This was our second time using Shawn and his team for our move from California to Arkansas. This was the second part of the move and last. They,once again were professional,friendly and accommodating.  Nothing is too much trouble and they will always go the extra mile to make your move is stress free.   Our furniture was cared for and nothing was ever damaged or broken. Stay away for long distance moves

Here is my experience with Beefcake on a long-distance move from CA to MI: 1. When they arrived the day of the move to load the truck, they informed me that I needed to pay 20% before they would do anything. I admit that I added three rugs and a washer/dryer to a 6 bedroom - 7,000 sq ft house move, and according to them this increased the price 20%. However, at this point I had no choice, so I paid it. 2. They started loading the truck on July 22nd and unloading on August 19th. Technically, this is within their delivery schedule as they can take as long as 21 business days to deliver your furniture and you should expect them to take this long. 3. When they arrived to unload, the driver wouldn't park on my street, in fact he wouldn't even drive on my street. This is a street in Michigan where cars park on both sides and one can still drive through them...but he wouldn't drive on this empty street (I asked my neighbors to move). So now they informed that they needed $2,500 more for shuttle service (i.e. renting a small moving truck) and that they would not unload my furniture until I paid. Again, at this point I had no choice, so I had to pay. They might be OK on a local move as the loading and unloading was pretty good, but stay away from Long-Distance moves with these guys. Magnificent

I took the time to do intensive research on moving companies to service my move to Manhattan. I narrowed it down to two companies and decided to go with Beefcake movers due to Gabbie’s exceptional customer service. They did not disappoint. I had them pack my art work and an antique chair over 100 years old. My service at delivery required a truck transfer since the major van line wouldn’t be able to access my street. Very professional and courteous

After reading several reviews on beefcake movers through social media, I gave them a call. I was a bit iffy at first due to some reviews, however I’d like the people who are considering beefcake movers to know that my experience with them was a pleasant one. My move coordinator was gabby, she asked me for a very detail furniture list and box count, They only require a $200 deposit to book a date, 65% due on move date and the rest at delivery. At delivery they take cash or postal money order. I happen to put everything on my credit card on move date. Also delivery could take 3-21 business days, I received my items within 9 days. I was pleased with the way they padded my furniture and packed my very expensive art work. At delivery the big rig was able to park on my street so no shuttle was required. Bottom line I love the way this company operates. I was inform of the whereabouts of my shipment via text throughout the move. I wish them all well and highly recommended them. Read more

Two most important things you want in a moving company, I’d say: careful handling of your goods, and speed. Beefcake gets my highest rating on both. Pickup team, Sean and Gustavo, was outstanding, seeming to spend a little extra attention and care on two major items, a large bookcase and a CD/DVD tower, that could not be insured because they are made of wood products rather than solid wood. They—and everything—came through the move without damage, and nothing was lost. I talked to a half-dozen companies before deciding on Beefcake, who, coincidentally, I discovered had moved two of my friends: one a cross-town move, the other from L.A. to Kansas City. upfront and honest

I love love this company. I moved several times cross county and have never come across such professional. move. My move consisted on a one bedroom house to a two bedroom apartment in New York. All my furniture was padded so professionally by the crew. Prior to booking they discussed everything with me,being that I was moving to the little streets of queens I required a smaller van to deliver my furniture. the only issue I had was that my new apartment promised me ground level and then gave me second level unit so I had a fe stairs,no biggie. Don't Use

Heads up for a nightmare movers story. Payment Policy: You pay 65% down and the rest is due before they unload the furniture. They increased what we owed twice: Once upon pick up when they said the desks (2 U shaped and 1 L shaped) were considered 2 and 3 person desks. (there was nothing on the contract that asked what shape the desks were or listed them as extra fee items). And second upon arrival when the mover said it was more than 75 feet from the truck to our office door. If he had not pulled up so far it wouldn't have been over 75 feet. Movers: Beefcake hired a guy to pack up the furniture,where he took everything apart and didn't mark what pieces went with what. A different mover picked up the items and transported them to our office,where upon arrival he threw a fit about where we wanted him to park,stating he was scared he would get hit by a car or get a parking ticket. A police officer,our building security officer and I were all trying to talk reason to the guy but he kept whining. I finally convinced him to proceed by offering to stand outside with him and tell him if a car was coming. (This was a side road,not heavily travelled,and only a parking lane away from the curb). He brought no help except for his wife,he had no ramp to unload,me and my colleagues had help him with several items. And after he finally unloaded,he stated that he doesn't put anything together,and left. He would only accept cash,(isn't it hard to document payment for tax purposes with cash??). Bad way to move

Hiring beefcake moving and storage will ensure a problematic, stressful and expensive relocation. At every step of the way, these guys just kept offering me add-ons to the actual move- fancy boxes, stronger tapes, transportation vehicle update etc. I didn’t need any perks- just wanted a straightforward move. They failed to provide me even that. My 8000 dollar couch now needs reupholstering, my huge dresser needs to be sanded back and repainted and they still couldn’t locate where they lost my 700 dollars worth of crystals. I am utterly disappointed with their services and hope no one ever hires them. Read more

I had to move my very expensive vending machines back home. I hired beefcake to do the job. My estimate included crating my machines. I never seen anything like it. Daryl,Sean and Edgar did a great job. I received them two weeks later without a scratch! Good workmanship guys. Read more

Stressful Move

The crew that loaded our belongings took legs off of several pieces of furniture and did not communicate where they were putting the legs. The crew who unloaded the items did not know where any of the legs were. They were able to find them all except 2 of the 4 legs off of our leather chair. There were 5-6 guys loading our belongings, but only 2 guys when they arrived. One of the 2 guys was hired from Craigslist. He ended up leaving before everything was done because he was tired. It took them about 5-6 hours to unload, find pieces and put stuff back together. They were not careful when unloading. I watched out the window and noticed that the Craigslist guy was dropping boxes. We thought we were missing a box, but the driver said we had them all. As we were unpacking, we noticed some of our valuables were missing. My husband called to tell them we were missing a box and they said no we were not because they were all accounted for. The fact of the matter is, we did not receive all of our valuables, so if we were not missing a box, then their employees stole them from the boxes we received. They refused to help us. They broke a lamp which they said they would give us $30 and would order legs they lost for our chair. When I posted a review on yelp, they called and said they would not send the legs nor the $30 and to submit a claim to the worthless insurance they provide which reimburses you 60 cents per pound. This last sentence tells you what kind of people you will be dealing with. We have never hired a moving service before. We always were able to move ourselves with the help of our grown kids. We were moving back to Oklahoma due to family issues and were already dealing with stress of that without having to deal with a stressful move. We did not understand about the insurance, which is our fault for not doing more research, but they are supposed to be professionals who move people for a living. They should have informed us about the insurance. The chair their employees lost the legs to, is a leather chair from West Elm and is worth way more than the 60 cents per pound their insurance will reimburse us. The stolen items were hundreds of dollars worth of stuff that they will also only pay per pound. I hope this review will help someone else who plans to move. Read more
