Great Last Minute Move

Bekins Moving Solutions handled a last minute move for me and did a great job. Crew was polite and respectful.

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

Bekins review CHARGED $1300 OVER $1500, 120% GOOD FAITH DEPOSIT PLUS HELPED MOVERS UNLOAD THE TRUCK FOR 4 HOURS. TIMELINE OF EVENTS NOTED BELOW. ALL OF TGE INFORMATION IS VERIFIABLE BY EMAIL AND POSTED ALONG WITH THIS REVIEW. 1. Called Bekins on a Saturday and explained the move in detail with a customer service rep in a call center. 2. Notes from the call center rep sent to Sales Associate Alexandra Fico at Bekins location in Sarasota, FL. 3. Email sent from Alexandra to Tiffany (customer) with a standard message of cost breakdown. 4. No phone interview or physical walkthrough of the residence was completed by Bekins even though Alexandra stated in the email response it was going to be scheduled. 5. Tiffany tried to contact Alexandra on the phone many times and never received a reply back. 6. Tiffany received an email with the estimate on Wednesday the following week without any explanation of charges or confirmation from Alexandra or any Bekins employees. 7. Bekins sales manager over Alexandra, Scott Rhodes, called to collect a 120% deposit but had to adjust the travel time making the initial estimate $200 less than what was asked for to hold the move. 8. New Estimate received and no explanations given for items or at least a confirmation of breakdown of charges 9. Movers showed up around 9:00am on Saturday. Walked through the residence and began working. About 9:45am I got a call from Scott that they did not plan to do a partial pack and that I’d be on the hook for any extra time needed to complete the job. We provided a lot of the moving boxes at our expense. 10. By the afternoon I talked to Todd Cutlip who is Scott’s manager about what was going on. Was told that this would be resolved by Monday or Tuesday and they would decrease the costs since they caused stress, anxiety, and lack of professionalism and due care on the front end. Seeing that this could take 15 hours with 3 movers me and my wife and my 12 year old were forced to help unload the truck at the new residence for over 4 hours. 11. Monday came and gone. Tuesday I received a call from Scott to pay the full amount for the time spent on the move. I paid $2700 with no updated invoice and no breakdown of charges. Was told the VP was involved and I’d know about any credit back to my card. Tuesday came and gone. Now Wednesday here and gone and still no resolution to this horrible nightmare. Lastly I would not recommend this moving service to anyone who wants a smooth and honest professional process to complete during a stressful time. It is unfortunate and a shame that people are taken advantage of and are left with having to accept extra charges or fees or inconvenience because I’m moving day that is the only option.
