SCAM...BAIT & SWITCH...DANGEROUS...RUN ...

O NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE BIG BOY MOVING OR ANY OF THEIR PARTNER COMPANIES! We booked them for a cross country move and the entire experience from beginning to end was unbelievably HORRENDOUS. They give you an estimate WITHOUT physically assessing what needs to be moved and give you a low price “only to be increased by 3 to 5 times” just to get the contract signed, with a “NON-REFUNDABLE” down payment. BAIT & SWITCH in every way possible. It was a NIGHTMARE in its literal sense. They were totally rude, unprofessional & DANGEROUS. Pick up driver arrived HOURS late with trucks with a company name on it that we had never heard of and with just ONE other guy. Their delay caused us to miss our flights. They kept my family hostage in the middle of the night until we signed their forms with 3X the rates they initially quoted. The estimate was $2,100 and they put in the forms $6,600 and wanted to sign even though there was not much of an increase. We felt completely trapped. The situation was so TRAGIC & HORRIFIC that we were going to call the Police to help us. The driver told us if we did, he would leave all our stuff on the road as is and would just leave. We had no option but be a victim of their ABUSE since we had to move across states and had already missed our flights. We contacted their customer service about our TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and they instead of being sympathetic, they blamed us and totally ignored all of our concerns. They had been rude and disrespectful throughout the entire move. I will be calling an attorney and I am going to report them to the BBB. I have tried to call my customer service rep, “APRIL” with NO LAST NAME on any of her emails, everyday. I’ve emailed her everyday. No response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT USE BIG BOY MOVING OR ANY OF THEIR PARTNER COMPANIES! They outsource their moves to other companies so you don’t know which company is going to show up to pick up or drop off with a variety of names on their trucks. At the time of booking, we asked them if they use their “OWN” trucks with Great Van Lines on them and were LIED to and told “YES”, again just to cheat and get us to sign the contract. GREAT VAN LINES, its owners, customer service associates & drivers are ALL deceitful! The driver who delivered called a day before delivery and said he was aware of what happened because the other driver had told him and was totally out of line, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL & JUDGMENTAL assuming & believing LIES told to him by the first driver much like their customer service. We were promised they would assemble everything that was disassembled upon pick up, but changed their tunes and left some of our furniture disassembled. The delivery driver was vulgar and uncouth. He walked around the house using profanity in front of our kids and INSULTED our belongings and family. They threw all of the cardboard boxes in front of the house where they delivered. They damaged

I have recently used Big Boy Moving And Storage. After taking their service I decided to write this review about them. When I was looking to hire a good moving company that time I saw some great reviews about them and decided to try. They were also within my budget. I had no problems during the entire move. They were very professional to handle the whole matter. I am impressed with their professionalism and would highly recommend them to anyone planning to move.

The easiest move

Letting go of quality service providers is something you wouldn't want to do, especially since the industry is flooded with low-quality service providers. And that is what I vowed after using the services of Big Boy Moving And Storage last week when relocating. They took care of all my needs without breaking stuff. I actually received everything I was promised. The quotation and the rates did not change as is the case with most agencies and they held to the end of their bargain. For this and other reasons, I will stick with them for my future relocation needs.

Best relocation ever

The move went well. Nothing appears broken, scratched and shattered. I was a little surprised about how much it ended up costing us overall, but I think I underestimated just how much stuff we have. They were moving on/off the truck and in/out of the house the entire time. All the movers were friendly and courteous. The moving team helped me unload that too, which was a huge help. Best moving company in my experience. In the last two years I have moved at least three times but Big Boy Moving And Storage was the best. They are best in all aspects. All service provided was first class. It was not so easy to move from one state to another and the work was smoothly possible only for their expert movers. They performed the job with excellent skilled hand. The driver was also brilliant. Overall I don't think I will hire any other mover in any of my future move. Quality Services

I haven't had the best of experiences with moving companies. So, for my last move, I wasn't going to hire any inefficient moving company. I did my research thoroughly and everything just pointed towards Big Boy Moving And Storage. I called them and got a quote within 30 minutes. On the moving day, four movers arrived right on time with all their equipment. They packed all my belongings carefully into boxes and then loaded onto the trucks. It was such an organized process that it took almost no time. When the delivery was made, nothing was broken or lost. It was by far the easiest and most cost effective relocation of mine.

I've heard so many horror stories about moving companies. However, I was very lucky to find a very professional moving company who prided itself in doing a good job from start to finish. They used blankets to wrap up everything, and they ensured everything arrived safely. Good communication with the relocation consultant and with the driver- he arrived exactly when he said he would arrive. This was the best move I have ever experienced. I would definitely recommend this moving company!!! We moved a one bedroom second storey walk-up to a house. The guys were very punctual and courteous. I was impressed by their commitment to complete the work and the overall quality. The price was provided via the phone, according to the list of items we gave them. I sent some pictures of the items that I was unsure of the size and how to qualify it, the representative was extremely accommodating! In the end we paid exactly what we've agreed.

Relocation does not get any easier

I don’t know how people even attempt to move all on their own. I could never do it. The stress of relocation wears me out. Thanks god for moving companies like Big boy moving and storage who exist to make our lives a lot easier. I hired them to move all my belonging from my old apartment to my new house. I am very pleased to report that they have done an excellent job. Every little detail was taken care of. The crew was very thorough and resourceful when it came to packing my things, especially my glassware. I was quite concerned about they were going to fit all my belongings into two vans but they did manage to do it somehow. Everything traveled very well as only two glasses broke during the journey. I am very happy to recommend this company.

I have become a fan

Our move could have been a difficult one given how much stuff we had. Some of our furniture was old and very heavy. I warned Big boy moving and storage about the heavy furniture but they seemed quite alright with that. I understood the reason when the movers arrived. They were such strong men. They carried my furniture very skillfully. I reckon these men had been doing this for a lot longer than I have been alive. I tipped them very generously once they delivered everything. I have become a complete fan of these guys.

I knew it was a hard job given how less-than-standard these pieces are and how susceptible to journey they are. But the movers managed to deliver each and every piece of my grandma’s furniture in great condition to my new house. They didn’t even charge me ridiculously for it. The movers arrived on time. They packed up everything carefully and took great care of my furniture while loading them. The boxes were properly wrapped with tape. My original movers decided not to show up for the appointment to move my stuffs. I called Big boy moving and storage and asked them if they could send some movers right away. Luckily, they had a cancelled appointment that afternoon and the movers came to my apartment instead. They were very professional. The worked with precision and care. Not even a glasses was broken

I have to relocate every few years because of my job. I know the movers who would quote you the lowest and then break all your glassware. Big boy moving and storage could very easily get away with doing the same. The reason why I'm here is because they did the expected. They did give me the lowest quote, arrived at the right time with proper transports and packed all my belongings too carefully. To my utter surprise, all my glassware arrived completely intact. To call my furniture collection old doesn’t do it any justice. They are passed down through generations and I am very proud of them. Big boy moving and storage sent a crew of 4 men to move my stuffs. They were strong men ready to carry anything. They maneuvered through my house with ease and carried all my furniture onto the vans. When they made the delivery, which was on the scheduled date, I was delighted to find all my furniture in pristine condition. I cannot thank this company enough for employing such capable and skilled movers.

You have to try them

I have seen my share of different moving companies but they are all flawed in some way or the other. Big boy moving and storage performed a flawless move for me. Their quote was cheap and I mean really cheap. They showed up early on the moving day with all the right tools. They used loads of packing materials to safeguard my breakables. Other things received a shrink wrap. Soon they were off and arrived at my new apartment right on time. There were no mishaps or glitches. I really cannot believe how excellently these movers worked.

Hiring them was the best idea

I have relocated 7 times in the last 5 years. So I do consider myself to be quite seasoned in this field. I remember the first few times I moved. 10 round trips, 12 friends helping out and yet we broke beds and damaged cupboards! Finally, I have had it and hired Big boy moving and storage. They have been moving my stuffs since 2012. These guys are just so professional. Their crew arrives always on the right time. They men are very capable and skilled. Even my cheap Swedish furniture survives in their hands. Sure, a mug or two plates are broken in every move. But at least I don’t have to carry heavy boxes 5 flights of stairs anymore. They are cheap too!

Awful. Stay away.

These guys are awful.... don't believe anything they tell you. We had a horrible experience moving with them this summer from IL to CO and now I feel like I need to post this review on every moving review site I can to hopefully help someone else from dealing with them. Summary: 1. They will increase your quote by a lot after packing your items. 2. They outsource the entire move without telling you. You think you hired Big Boy to handle your stuff, but all of our items were transferred to a central dispatch which handles multiple moving companies/trucks/moves and Big Boy is pretty much out of the picture. 3. The delivery dates promised by the salesman were lies. Our stuff showed up 15 days later. 4. The sales people stop answering your phone calls and will not return emails when you call to check on the move status. 5. A lot of our stuff arrived broken. 6. A lot of online reviews are positive, but after going to the bottom of the page almost every review is negative. 7. They also charge a deposit, which I read is a red flag on moving scams after the fact.

How could I be so naive? The old Bait ...

It is hard for me to write this review because I am getting upset all over and the nightmare has finally ended. Here is what you need to know if you even consider using this company. Be sure you get a written report of the items you and the salesman have agreed upon moving before you give them a deposit. If you don't when the pick up man gets there, he will tell you that items you agreed upon moving are not on his list and you must pay extra. The other major important thing you must know is that they have 21 business days to deliver your items. That is one month. Whatever the salesman tells you to get your business is all smoke and mirrors. If he tells you he has a delivery heading your way within a day or two of your desired delivery date, he is lying. This company brokers out your delivery to another company. They have to find another carrier to pick up your items from one of their hubs and then and only then will your items be delivered. Your furniture will not be wrapped for the price that is quoted. That is extra and it is very, very expensive. If your furniture/items are any farther than 75 feet from the truck that comes to pick up your items, there is a hefty charge for that as well. Same thing on the delivery end. The man who picks up your furniture/items gets out of the truck ready to upcharge you. It is the most stressful, hateful experience you will ever encounter. My gut told me to send my pick up man packing back to Atlanta without my furniture but I foolishly stayed in the game. Huge mistake. Big mistake. The staff at Big Boy in Miami are available and actually were sympathetic to my plight but it did not change the fact that my furniture that I fully expected to have delivered by October 8 or 9 really came to me on October 20. This was and expensive mistake and the only way you should use this company is if you have the extra days(21 days) to spare to get your things. Be prepared to pay for all the things I listed: extra feet to the truck, wrapping of furniture) I would never use this company again and am never going to get over how upsetting this whole experience was.

They have a big network

What I like about Big boy moving and storage is their resourcefulness. I hired them to move my belongings from Medley, FL to Atlanta, GA on such a short notice. Even though they came on such short notice, they didn’t rush through packing. They were very thorough and packed everything carefully. I saw them loading our stuffs very systematically onto the vans. Both the vans arrived together and all our belongings were unharmed. I am very grateful for the prompt response given by Big boy moving and storage in time of need.

Properly trained movers

I have had many favorite pieces of mine broken or damaged by movers in the past. I was really watching over the movers sent by Big boy moving and storage while they were handling my move because I didn’t want to lose more stuffs. To my surprise, these guys really did the job excellently. I gathered that they were really well trained by the company or they had too much experience. Either way, all my belongings were safely delivered to my new house. It was such a simple move. I wonder why I hadn’t hired them before!
