SCAM...BAIT & SWITCH...DANGEROUS...RUN ...

O NOT USE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT USE BIG BOY MOVING OR ANY OF THEIR PARTNER COMPANIES! We booked them for a cross country move and the entire experience from beginning to end was unbelievably HORRENDOUS. They give you an estimate WITHOUT physically assessing what needs to be moved and give you a low price “only to be increased by 3 to 5 times” just to get the contract signed, with a “NON-REFUNDABLE” down payment. BAIT & SWITCH in every way possible. It was a NIGHTMARE in its literal sense. They were totally rude, unprofessional & DANGEROUS. Pick up driver arrived HOURS late with trucks with a company name on it that we had never heard of and with just ONE other guy. Their delay caused us to miss our flights. They kept my family hostage in the middle of the night until we signed their forms with 3X the rates they initially quoted. The estimate was $2,100 and they put in the forms $6,600 and wanted to sign even though there was not much of an increase. We felt completely trapped. The situation was so TRAGIC & HORRIFIC that we were going to call the Police to help us. The driver told us if we did, he would leave all our stuff on the road as is and would just leave. We had no option but be a victim of their ABUSE since we had to move across states and had already missed our flights. We contacted their customer service about our TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE and they instead of being sympathetic, they blamed us and totally ignored all of our concerns. They had been rude and disrespectful throughout the entire move. I will be calling an attorney and I am going to report them to the BBB. I have tried to call my customer service rep, “APRIL” with NO LAST NAME on any of her emails, everyday. I’ve emailed her everyday. No response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. DO NOT USE BIG BOY MOVING OR ANY OF THEIR PARTNER COMPANIES! They outsource their moves to other companies so you don’t know which company is going to show up to pick up or drop off with a variety of names on their trucks. At the time of booking, we asked them if they use their “OWN” trucks with Great Van Lines on them and were LIED to and told “YES”, again just to cheat and get us to sign the contract. GREAT VAN LINES, its owners, customer service associates & drivers are ALL deceitful! The driver who delivered called a day before delivery and said he was aware of what happened because the other driver had told him and was totally out of line, RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL & JUDGMENTAL assuming & believing LIES told to him by the first driver much like their customer service. We were promised they would assemble everything that was disassembled upon pick up, but changed their tunes and left some of our furniture disassembled. The delivery driver was vulgar and uncouth. Best relocation ever

The move went well. Nothing appears broken, scratched and shattered. I was a little surprised about how much it ended up costing us overall, but I think I underestimated just how much stuff we have. I haven't had the best of experiences with moving companies. So, for my last move, I wasn't going to hire any inefficient moving company. I did my research thoroughly and everything just pointed towards Big Boy Moving And Storage. I called them and got a quote within 30 minutes. On the moving day, four movers arrived right on time with all their equipment. They packed all my belongings carefully into boxes and then loaded onto the trucks. I don’t know how people even attempt to move all on their own. I could never do it. The stress of relocation wears me out. Our move could have been a difficult one given how much stuff we had. Some of our furniture was old and very heavy. I warned Big boy moving and storage about the heavy furniture but they seemed quite alright with that. I understood the reason when the movers arrived. They were such strong men. Their quote was cheap and I mean really cheap. They showed up early on the moving day with all the right tools. They used loads of packing materials to safeguard my breakables. Hiring them was the best idea

I have relocated 7 times in the last 5 years. So I do consider myself to be quite seasoned in this field. I remember the first few times I moved. 10 round trips, 12 friends helping out and yet we broke beds and damaged cupboards! Finally, I have had it and hired Big boy moving and storage. They have been moving my stuffs since 2012. These guys are just so professional. Their crew arrives always on the right time. They men are very capable and skilled. Awful. Stay away.

These guys are awful.... don't believe anything they tell you. We had a horrible experience moving with them this summer from IL to CO and now I feel like I need to post this review on every moving review site I can to hopefully help someone else from dealing with them. Summary: 1. They will increase your quote by a lot after packing your items. 2. They outsource the entire move without telling you. You think you hired Big Boy to handle your stuff, but all of our items were transferred to a central dispatch which handles multiple moving companies/trucks/moves and Big Boy is pretty much out of the picture. 3. The delivery dates promised by the salesman were lies. Our stuff showed up 15 days later. 4. The sales people stop answering your phone calls and will not return emails when you call to check on the move status. 5. A lot of our stuff arrived broken. 6. A lot of online reviews are positive, but after going to the bottom of the page almost every review is negative. 7. They also charge a deposit, which I read is a red flag on moving scams after the fact. Read more

How could I be so naive? The old Bait ...

It is hard for me to write this review because I am getting upset all over and the nightmare has finally ended. Here is what you need to know if you even consider using this company. Be sure you get a written report of the items you and the salesman have agreed upon moving before you give them a deposit. If you don't when the pick up man gets there, he will tell you that items you agreed upon moving are not on his list and you must pay extra. The other major important thing you must know is that they have 21 business days to deliver your items. That is one month. Whatever the salesman tells you to get your business is all smoke and mirrors. If he tells you he has a delivery heading your way within a day or two of your desired delivery date, he is lying. This company brokers out your delivery to another company. They have to find another carrier to pick up your items from one of their hubs and then and only then will your items be delivered. Your furniture will not be wrapped for the price that is quoted. That is extra and it is very, very expensive. If your furniture/items are any farther than 75 feet from the truck that comes to pick up your items, there is a hefty charge for that as well. Same thing on the delivery end. The man who picks up your furniture/items gets out of the truck ready to upcharge you. It is the most stressful, hateful experience you will ever encounter. My gut told me to send my pick up man packing back to Atlanta without my furniture but I foolishly stayed in the game. Huge mistake. Big mistake. The staff at Big Boy in Miami are available and actually were sympathetic to my plight but it did not change the fact that my furniture that I fully expected to have delivered by October 8 or 9 really came to me on October 20. This was and expensive mistake and the only way you should use this company is if you have the extra days(21 days) to spare to get your things. Be prepared to pay for all the things I listed: extra feet to the truck, wrapping of furniture) I would never use this company again and am never going to get over how upsetting this whole experience was. What I like about Big boy moving and storage is their resourcefulness. I hired them to move my belongings from Medley, FL to Atlanta, GA on such a short notice. Even though they came on such short notice, they didn’t rush through packing. They were very thorough and packed everything carefully. I saw them loading our stuffs very systematically onto the vans. Properly trained movers

I have had many favorite pieces of mine broken or damaged by movers in the past. I was really watching over the movers sent by Big boy moving and storage while they were handling my move because I didn’t want to lose more stuffs.
