Terrible company

Was over charged on the truck,And if you do use them as a moving service make sure you measure the truck because they told me and my family originally 3,800 and then we figured out that it wasn’t so they changed it to 2,840 but that still was not the right size the correct size is 1,880. They also charged us for a full truck and then all of our stuff isn’t here at our new destination. When they also unloaded our stuff picture we’re broken. Overall do not recommend worst experience ever.

Unlawful/Deceptive Practices - Stay ...

This is a complaint against Extreme Van Line Inc. of NY (DOT#3404575, MC# 1096502). The company provided me with a binding moving estimate of $2970.77, to which I agreed in advance. On the day of the move, the movers confirmed this estimate and I again signed the paperwork for $2970.77. But after that--and only after they had already inspected my items and loaded almost everything into the truck--the lead mover ("Oscar") held me up saying they would not honor the binding estimate. Instead, the moving cost would be a whopping $5850. He forced me to sign new paperwork (after hiding the original copy) and said my only recourse was to try to negotiate a lower price with the company later, after the movers left with all my possessions. I felt I had no choice but to go through with the move despite an almost $3K price hike, as the only reason I had agreed to hire this company in the first place was because they were available on the date I had to move out, and they had agreed to deliver within one week. I ultimately settled up with the company (via "Tommy") for a total of $5100, but never should have experienced any of this. It is illegal to provide a binding estimate and then to renege after loading the truck (which they know, because I later learned this and informed them by phone prior to delivery). There was no mystery around how much stuff I had before they began loading. Everything was carefully packed, documented, and numbered. Furthermore, the movers on the delivery side did not arrive when they were supposed to, which was 10/27/2022. Instead, they arrived at my house at almost 1AM on 10/28/2022. They did not finish unloading until after 4AM. Unacceptable, and as I am a petite woman who was home alone, also completely unsafe. Again, since the movers had all of my things in their possession, I felt there was nothing I could do. These practices are an abuse of consumers. The movers themselves did not do a good job either. On the pickup side, they were the slowest movers I had ever dealt with--and there were FOUR of them. On the delivery side, apart from being hours late and arriving in the middle of the night, they severely damaged a wall and did not tell me, and also left before providing all of the placement and reassembly they were supposed to. A number of items arrived damaged or broken, including large furniture items. Stay away!

Decent and Dishonesty

My experience with this moving company was a disaster! Coordinating the move was done over the phone, she never had someone visit our home to assess actual size/quantity/weight of our goods, so the day of our move the movers noted their POC underestimated our cost. The company told us our goods would be delivered 3-5 days from pick-up, instead, I was consistently on the phone with them being told different delivery dates and times until 7 days later. During this time of waiting, I was contacted by someone representing the company who tried to scam me of $800 to have my goods delivered. I contacted the company who said their computer was hacked. I filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission. DO NOT USE THIS Co.

Avoid them, do not work with them

I had an estimate and agreement with this moving company that the price is 3.75 per Cubic feet plus fees. Total Moving estimate is $7927. When the track came, they forgot the papers and had to fill them from the scratch then claimed that the track is 2800 cubic feet which is lie because it’s a 26 feet track. They scummed my mother for another $4,336 dollars or even more Because the track that came to unload at the destination was ¾ full and I measure the track cubic feet and it was less than 2000 cubic feet and if tacking ¼ it’s even less then 1800 cf as per estimate. I was emailing and texting and having a phone call stating that the company is scamming my mom by charging her based on 2800 cubic feet. I had a conversation with an owner who was very rude threaten to drop the staff and not deliver, saying that I will need then hire a new company that will cost much more and that he doesn’t’ want to deliver even after cashing the check for a job. Felt like he is holding the belonging as hostage and taking advantage. When the track made a delivery some of the items where damaged and missing. When the movers brought the furniture inside the house, they damaged the walls and floor which was documented. I was trying to file a complaint with the company, sent them pictures of the damage. Asked for a claim form they ignore my request not answering my emails can contact them now. This company scammed my Mother The personnel in the office and the owner are rude and dishonest.

Quick Service

I used this moving company for my daughter and grandkids move back home from NYC . I spoke with Jessica and she set my move up for my daughter and when the movers arrived here in FLA they were on time very professional and put all the furniture neatly together for us . It only took them 5 days to deliver all the other companies I contacted was going to take 2 plus weeks. even thou the hurricane hit us they still delivered. My family and I moved into my house 9/19. My son was starting first grade on 9/20. I knew the move from NY to NC was going to be hard on him so I wanted to make sure the change was as comfortable as possible. When I was looking for movers and getting the estimates I did not care too much for the price(hence the huge change from the quote to the actual) because what mattered was that this was done properly so my family could be less stressed. What I did ask was that my things be delivered by the 19th. Jessica from Extreme Van Lines reassured me that if I sent my stuff by the 9th I would have my things by the 19th. I took their word. On the 9th the foreman and two men came. They worked hard and loaded all my stuff. When it was time to sign the contract they mentioned that all plyboard furnitures such as Ikea are not covered if damaged. Nobody mentioned this during quoting. But what mattered was that my things get delivered on time so I disregarded the lack of transparency. What I repeatedly mentioned then too was that I just need my stuff by the 19th. As the 19th approached which was Monday I was anxious because no one from the company reached out to inform me of the status. I started calling that weekend,left voicemails but no one got back. I called Monday morning and finally Jessica picked up and said that sh has to call the driver and confirm the location because they don’t have GPS on the trucks. So if figured my stuff was on its way. Even after an hour no calls. So I called back to ask where the driver was. But kept being sent to the message. Finally after two hours Kenny,the owner of the company calls and says the item is in transit. So I asked where,he was reluctant to answer and when I was beginning to get angry,he snapped at me and said do I not know what “In Transit” means. So at this point I am just repeating the same questions and finally he admits that its still sitting in their warehouse in NY. What’s more daunting is that they hadn’t even arranged for any transport and he snapped back saying that he couldn’t do nothing if I kept him on the phone. Apparently,now they wanted to get on the job. He went off about how according to the contract they are not at fault because 5-10 days delay can happen. Not a word of apology or any transparency. He just hung up. Hours later he got back to me and said they are looking for a truck to send my stuff but repeating the same thing that its not gonna come anytime soon. Its the 20th. My son is starting his first day in first grade in a few hours. I am writing this as my family are sleeping on the floor feeling like I am absolutely a failure as a father. I couldn’t even keep that one promise for him. Im sure they will not care because they already got paid 70 percent upfront with additional 150 tip. Great Service ...Great Price....Sum it ...

I have moved once before in my life and it was a horrible experience . This was due completely to the moving company. But this time around was completely different . Extreme Van lines called me up and from that point on it was just a pleasant experience. They gave me a price and actually came in cheaper when all was said and done. They sent a crew of 4 guys and they were great ! They didn't sit around and BS or milk the clock. They came ..they packed ...They moved !! That simple. My stuff got there on time and they actually gave me a few days storage for some stuff until I found a place for it at the house. Bottom line if I ever do move in my life again , I know who to call.
