I contacted Geo Van lines through Movers.com approximately 2 weeks ago to schedule a move for my mother on May 9. Throughout that process, they were helpful, and I paid above the deposit to help her with move costs and signed the contract. I texted the rep I worked with Thursday May 7th, 2 days before the move because I had not received confirmation. She said they would call me with the timeframe on Friday, which they did, providing a window of 12-3 on Saturday. This is where it goes down hill. They did not show up within the time frame, and I could not get anyone to answer the phone, including the rep I was working with. I called several times and waited on hold for 30 and even selected new customer and instead of being placed on hold, I was hung up on. I was clearly being ignored. After stressing about that all afternoon and trying to find another mover if they did not show, I was contacted by the actual move about 5:15. He told me he would be there about 6 or "something like that". They did not show up until 7 pm. Then they took their sweet time, milking the hours. It took them FOUR HOURS to load her truck. a regular 2 bedroom worth of furniture. No couch, no WD. Come to find out, they had several pieces of another customers items in the truck, so it was not empty. So added to they were moving slow to milk the clock, It was now dark, because they came 4 hours late, and they were having to maneuver to get her items to fit. This added to the four hours. When it was finally loaded, it was almost midnight. We got to the new place 45 minutes before they did, and when they finally got there, it was after 1:30 AM. The guy comes in and states that due to the added hours, the quote was now DOUBLE what I had been quoted. $1000 move. After arguing, stating that it took so long because they got there so late, and had a 1/4 full truck when they arrived, I tried to call their dispatch. Of course, no answer. So we finally paid it because we did not want to deal with it anymore and they would not remove her belongings until it was paid. It was after 2 AM at this point. Of course, when it came time for the guy to call in the payment information, the dispatch answered....Anyways, the got the items mostly off the truck and came in at 4:30 AM and stated we owed more money because it was taking them longer to get the items off the truck. I told them in no uncertain circumstances were we going to pay ANYTHING else and to finish her move. The took the few remaining items off and left. During the move, they were just dumping her boxes over and caused several glasses and trinkets to break. I will never recommend this company to anyone, nor will I every use them again. They are horrible scam artists that are unbelievably unprofessional. I wish I had seen all these reviews before using them. Once they have your deposit money and contract, they are no longer available to contact if you have a problem. Use at your own risk.
