Disrespectful and Deceitful Company

I would rate zero stars if I could. I contacted GM Van Lines in late August. I spoke to a man named Howard who told me that in order to hold the reservation at the price quoted, I needed to pay a deposit of nearly $700. No other company I spoke to asked for a deposit up front like Howard did; but he assured me that if I decided to cancel, the refund would be posted immediately. After I spoke to several other companies over the next week or so, I chose to go a different route and called GM Van Lines to cancel my reservation. Howard was very upset, but after much arguing he finally said he would process the refund and it would take 10 business days to post. After waiting for over 15 business days, I called the company and spoke to Trisha who informed me that the job had never been cancelled and I was still scheduled for pickup on the specified date. Not only that, but if I were seeking a refund, it should have been posted immediately and not 10 days later like Howard had said. She contacted her boss, Oded, who posted the refund the very next day (now late September). At that point, I thought the ordeal was over. The refund sat as a pending transaction on my credit card account for 4 or so business days before mysteriously disappearing. I called my credit card company who told me that when a transaction disappears like that it usually means that it was cancelled by the issuing company. I called GM Van Lines and spoke to Trisha again who called Oded and called me back to say that he said that the problem was not on their end. So now I am left to sit here wondering where the transaction went. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare. Howard was pushy, disrespectful, deceitful, and patronizing in my dealings with him; and he was especially disrespectful and angry during my first attempt to cancel the deposit. Trisha and Oded seemed upstanding at first, but the fact that I am still dealing with this debacle means that they are either lying to me or ineffectual at their own company against Howard. AVOID DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY. SAVE YOURSELF FROM A MAJOR HEADACHE.

CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I chose this company after getting concerned about the tactics and reviews of some competitors. I went to the BBB website and saw that GM movers had an A+ rating. I called and spoke with Angela who is AMAZING at customer service. She was with me every step of the way. The movers came on time and spent careful hours making sure everything was securely packed. This was a cross country move from the east coast to the west coast. They gave more than 24 hours advanced notice of when they would arrive and when they did (as stated in the contract),it was a full size tractor trailer truck. They parked very close ($75 extra for truck being unable to get super close due to size - and we knew in advance of this extra fee). They spent the same careful time reassembling all the furniture. Great experience. I highly recommend them. Ask for Angela. She is wonderful!

The movers were friendly and ...

The movers were friendly and professional. A leg on one of our chairs was broken, but the team leader took photos on his iPad and said if we emailed the company, they would either fix it or pay for it. It was cool that he pointed it out right away and took care of it. We were quoted at 5 hours and they were done in less than 3 hours! Overall, great experience.. I would highly recommend them!!

They handled my possessions with care and were sure to wrap everything super tight. On delivery in NC, they arrived when they said they would. Unpacked my things and made sure they were all placed in the rooms they belonged in. My family and I want to say Thank you to Gm Van Lines for a great move! They provide services that assist with everything in the moving process, as well as making things move along smoothly. They make sure that you receive an inventory list, along with pictures of all your belongings and transport them safely to the designated destination. They offer storage options with a facility that is under 24-hour surveillance and even offer climate controlled units for the safety of your possessions. They are a friendly company that makes moving a whole lot easier.

Very Professional Movers!!!

On the move day itself, our movers were professional, kind, arrived right on time, and took great care of all of our possessions (including a brand new, very large TV and an irreplaceable antique dresser). They were fast while still being extremely careful, had great attitudes, and made the moving day stress free! We will absolutely work with this company again!

Very experienced

I could give more than 5 stars I would! GM van lines was outstanding. Their service was also competitively fair priced than other companies. They had no hidden cost. They were very flexible with the scheduling. They wrapped, packed and loaded everything in 4 hours. The move went very well. I would like to recommend these movers.

They have a professional attitude

If you need quality movers with great attitude go with GM van lines. Everyone that has helped to process this move has been great in accommodating me to make sure it went smoothly. The movers were adequately trained and their foreman was a very experienced man who directed his men very well. They were very careful with my furniture and glass items. The delivery was on time and they helped me to decorate my new house. However I don’t have words to describe how truly great team of movers was!

It was not very good.

It wasn't very good, actually. They brought my furniture and everything but they forgot the screws to my bed, or they lost the screws or something. So the guy couldn't put together my bed and this was around 7 or so and he had to leave and he said that the office was closed and couldn't call anyone to call the screws. And there was suppose to be a blizzard the following day, so my boyfriend and I had to rush last minute to IKEA to buy some screws to put my bed together. They didn't handle my boxes very well as far as the ones marked fragile because one of my wine glasses are broken.

Had to file a claim

In the beginning it was a really good experience. But with the drop off it was horrible they broke three of my items and I had to file a claim. And the service on the lever was horrible too.

Truly dedicated to their work

The movers from GM van lines were prompt and really cared about moving my belongings perfectly. These are the movers I’ve ever had. When I moved to the new place, they made sure to check before placing each item in a room. Their service charge was reasonable and service was efficient. They were absolutely fabulous in everything.

Extraordinary and Fantastic

GM van lines did an extraordinary and fantastic job for me. They arrived on time and they packed the items well and swiftly. I cannot emphasize enough on how amazing the movers were. The crew is only as good as the foreman. He directed the men perfectly. They did everything while smiling. They were punctual, efficient, fast and friendly. To complete the whole process, they took very short time. Their price was reasonable and their service was superb. They didn’t disappoint me.

I had a very positive experience with GM van lines. They handled the whole move very professionally. The delivery went just well. All employees were great to deal with- very thorough and professional. There were several people who contacted me to make sure that we got things correctly. The moving coordinator was excellent too.

I am thoroughly impressed by GM van lines. Right from the beginning, when I was searching for estimates, they responded to my emails within minutes. My replies and questions over the course of a few days again were responded to within minutes of sending. I got phone calls and follow-up phone calls. The attention they give you is above and beyond. And I would specially like to thank their dispatcher. The estimate was reasonable and less than most other companies I contacted so I went with GM van lines.

They are the best

Thank you for saving us! We never had to move a finger and all the packing and dismantling was done by the packers. In addition to this when the goods reached our new address, the packers skillfully unloaded the goods and placed it to positions where we exactly asked them to be placed. The moving procedure was so easy and quick. They are real professionals. GM van lines is the number one in my book.

Moved without damage

I would never praise any moving company because they are mostly just bad! GM van lines, however, is the best in business. Their quote was very fair price for today’s market and that is the reason why I hired them. They sent over the movers to wrap up everything from my apartment. I could tell that they had years and years of moving experiences. All my belongings were safely packed and loaded onto the vans. They delivered everything on time and my goods traveled quite well.

Incredibly affordable

Companies that charge reasonably always do a poor job. GM van lines is probably the only exception. I am no novice at relocation and I have been through the best and worst moving companies. I have to give it to this company for being so professional and affordable during my last move. They quoted me a very reasonable price. They sent over 3 very capable men equipped with all the right tools and 2 shiny new vans. I was very shocked to see how skilled the men were given how realistically they were charging. Not all good is lost yet. I am highly recommending this company.

Amazing moving company!

We used GM Van Lines 2 months ago for our move. They arrived on time, worked diligently, and got things done. They were very experienced and delicate with our valuables. I would most definitely recommend GM Van Lines with everyone who is looking to move and use hard working experienced individuals.

I only have praises

It was the reputation GM Van Lines has that helped me pick them. My friends who have used them before have given me amazing reviews for them. Now I certainly understand why. Not only was their quote was reasonable, but their movers arrived very much on time, equipped with all the right things. They were very swift and efficient at their jobs. My move went absolutely easily because of these guys. I just couldn’t find a single bad thing to say about them.

These men are so efficient

The movers sent from GM Van lines were absolutely fantastic. They were punctual and maintained their scheduled throughout the move. The worked very quickly to pack up all my belongings and load them to the van. They carried heavy items in a way that proved their experience in this field. All our belongings were delivered safely and nothing was harmed during the trip. They charged me a very standard amount for the amazing job!

Such skilled movers

I am astounded given the skills my movers displayed during my last move. GM Van Lines is a well reputed company but I wasn’t expecting this level of proficiency. The men were highly trained and they took the smallest amount of time possible to wrap up the pack and load process. They delivered every item completely undamaged. The company provided me an estimate but the bill was exactly that amount. I am highly recommending these guys.

They showed care

I was looking for a mover who would treat my valuables with respect and care. GM Van Lines did exactly that. The company was referred to me by a family friend. When I called them, they seemed very polite and helpful. I got the idea that this company isn’t like the others. So I gave them the responsibility to move my belongings. They performed so efficiently. The crew arrived on time. Nothing was too big or too heavy for them. They tackled every obstacle like they knew it would be there. I was very impressed seeing how friendly these men were. They assured me the safety of my valuables. They delivered everything in great condition to my new home. I clearly had a great time moving with these guys.

I am pleased

GM Van Lines is a big company that operates all over the country with a huge network of movers, behind the scene personnel and fast trucks. But what really makes them the best are their movers. They were the best movers money can hire. I have had terrible experiences with movers in the past. But these guys really made me feel at ease. They packed everything so skillfully and then finished the loading process very quickly. The delivery was made right on the scheduled day and all my belongings traveled so well. They unpacked everything and put them in the right rooms. It was a good decision hiring these guys.

Adaptive and skillful

What really separates the movers from GM Van Lines is their ability to adapt to different situations. We had a series of issues during this last move but the movers tackled all of them very easily. They were also very apt at packing and loading everything. All my things were safely delivered despite all the problems they faced. They also charged me quite low. I am totally singing praises for them.

Awesome in every way

It is so much better to hire moving companies who have been in the business for a long time even if they charge a little more than the novice ones. This is why I hired GM Van Lines. My move with them went very smoothly. None of my furniture suffered any kind of damages on the way and the company maintained their timing perfectly. These guys really outperform every other mover out there. Yes, they do charge a few dollars extra. But if anyone gives you a quote that is too low, run away from them!

Top notch service

The customer service was top notch. Their team members did an amazing job. I was so happy with how well all my belongings were wrapped and taped up. They even wrapped my bicycle. The team was great and they phoned ahead to tell us know that they are almost there. The delivery persons were very polite, friendly, and skilled. They were diligent. I was very pleased with everything.

I want to try to find a place that would give me a quote based on weight not not just on storage space. And Everyone wanted me to give me a quote based on storage space.But the thing is that depending on who's doing the packing, it's very different. They wanted to come in and do the packing themselves and put it into storage. So I'm not sure how that really would've worked out. i really only had 200 sq, ft. of storage but if it's done wrong that could easily be 400 or more. They did it by weight, and as soon as they came by they took everything and took the truck to a weigh station to weigh it with everything on it, based off of the weight with nothing on it they determined how much my total value was going to be. They only charged me 85 cents per pound and then I got to pay only half of the estimate up front and I didn't have to pay the rest until everything got here in New Mexico. They gave me flexible options too. They said if I wanted I could pay everything in advance if I wanted to only use a credit card or if I wanted to pay cash I could wait until everything showed up. They were willing to work with me I was very happy about that. Everything arrived much faster than I thought it would. They told me it would take anywhere between 9 and 15 days. And they told me that if I moved it to storage that was free for me for 30 days, until I was ready with a place for them to move it to they said from that point on it would take that much time. But it only took about 3 days from when I told them the address and everything so I was very pleased with that.. The driver showed up and moved everything on time no problems or anything and they took off. Everything was padded they brought blankets and wrapped everything up nicely. I was pleased with the whole experience.

Tension free move

I had a tension free move. We picked GM Van Lines out of so many movers in the city. It was an absolute satisfaction working with them from the very beginning to end. They knew what they were doing. When they delivered my belongings, they helped me suggesting idea for interior decoration. Even they installed my bedroom's air condition at free of cost. I am thankful to GM Van Lines.

Efficient and affordable

The people who setup the move were very helpful and they have a detailed process to sign up with them and cover all concerns/questions. They gave me a time window and called me within the hour of the time window to give me an exact time when they will show up. They showed up and finished the job very quickly. It was a pain for them to get the long sofa into my house, as it was a bit tall for my doorway, but they worked it out.

Very nice service

I am extremely happy that I chose GM Van Lines. We had a large apartment that consists four rooms. They sent over their guys with a foreman at our home to assist us. It was very hard to move all the furniture due to the tight corners but they handled it so well. These guys were enjoyable and fast. They completed the task without and delays or any damages.

Spot on!

I work for a company that has me relocated around the country a lot. In five years, I have moved three times, and have had some of the worst experiences of my life with picking scam moving companies (my price doubling at the time of pick up, month late deliveries, damages, missing belongings). So this time I was very careful when picking a mover. After all of my research I decided to use GM Van Lines because they have a great reputation online. The team was magnificent. All my things were delivered intact. No harm came to anything. And most importantly, no hidden fees! I want to say is their service was spot on!

They are remarkable

I had a bad experience the last time I moved so this time I did my research. After looking at many good reviews I went with GM Van Lines. I am happy I chose GM Van Lines because these guys were very professional and they took care of everything. The foreman and his two helpers took their time and carefully packed and loaded all of my belongings and safely delivered it to me. I think no other mover could have done this move any smoother.
