Move from Hell

This was the move from Hell and more. Started out with another moving company and at last minute they called and said they couldn’t be there to pack on the day stated. That left us with trying to find a mover that would be able to pack us up the next day; new owners were to move in the following morning. Called GoPro, they said sure they could pack us up the next day, I gave them a basic list of what was needed to be moved, also stated I had packed 70 boxes and only furniture, large items and my china cabinet things and kitchen dishware needed to be physically moved to the truck. I was quoted $4000.00, being a flat rate at $3.25 per cubic foot. They arrived the next day as promised. They packed everything into a 24 foot truck which can only hold 1400 cubic feet. We were told at the end that our corner 8 foot entertainment center didn’t fit and they tied it onto the back of the truck. I couldn’t object, we had to get out of there. I was then presented with a bill of $7762.00. Wow! Way over the estimate. The leader showed me a bill for packing supplies for $2084.20. There is no way tape and bubble wrap and a few boxes run that much. Also, they never presented me with their figures on how many cubic feet they were billing me for. I was stuck, had to agree to the move, they had my stuff and we had to get out. Had to pay them 2/3 of the bill. We moved from northern California to northern Arizona. After 10 days the movers got to our house. Demanded payment immediately then started unpacking the truck( a 52 ft. semi) Actually they were throwing things off the truck then midway decided to quit bringing items and boxes into the house and just leaving stuff in the garage. They refused to put furniture back together (which in the contract is states they would). Boxes that were marked this side up, and were packed by them were upside-down, boxes marked fragile were ripped and dented. Two out of three mirrored pedestals were totally shattered. I saw in the front yard where one had been thrown off the truck and pieces of mirror were on the ground. The entertainment center was destroyed, two out of four doors torn off, base totally missing, shelf torn out, Trim on the top was torn off and missing. About 35+ items were broken. To get paid for the missing items, I had to sign a document stating I would not talk about them, so I will not talk about the missing items. The driver of the delivery truck refused to give us the bill of lading, manifest and inventory.(which is needed to file an insurance claim). It took from July 20, 2014 until October 14, 2014 to have the company finally pay for the items they agreed to pay for. I had to file for the insurance, GoPro said they would provide them with what they needed (only covers 60 cents per pound of damaged item) . On October 17th I received a release and settlement from the insurance company saying they would only pay $201.00. That’s absurd!!!! I even looked the weight up in the A

I would use them again even with the ...

Overall it was pretty good, but there was a couple of things that were broken and I think I lost one box. But other than that everything was pretty good ... They were very fast, very efficient ... I would use them again.

Go Pro Vanlines does Magic!! But only ...

Seriously, they converted my 450 cu ft load into 715 cu ft load. I took their service to move in June 2014. First the good things - Sales Personnel were always available to talk. Within a short notice they gave me service and their pickup truck was also on time. The delivery was done in a reasonable timeframe (as promised) Now the bad part - Dealing was very smooth… until the pickup truck arrived. The pickup team was stubborn, they would not listen to anyone. Their main guy (Moses) refused to blanket and shrink wrap the furniture and said his job was only to load on truck. Team started blanket wrapping it after I talked to their office. Still they were just lazy in wrapping many items. They would not bring the tables apart. They did not open 2 full size bed frames and put them directly on the truck. Upon reminding again and again for each furniture, they threatened to leave the furniture behind. Clearly looked that they wanted to pack everything as loose as they could. I knew my load around 500-550 cu ft (as I had moved 6 months back), but they booked me for 715 cu ft!!, all due to their fine art. Even in the end, that threatened to leave the goods behind. Problem is you cannot do anything if you are flying the next day. When my stuff got delivered, I was amazed and horrified to see my "small" load. Most things were openup up and repacked again to fit in almost half of the volume! Such cunning folks. And furniture was thrust in to its limits. I had 4 bicycles which were pushed in any available space in between, all scratched. Result - bed frame broken, furniture scratched, paint chipped off. I measured the volume it took in the delivery truck (it was only 450 cu ft)!! Now when I called their office to talk to their Manager (Alex) about it, this guy behaves he if has been doing a big favor till now. I told him I was overcharged because furniture was not packed well and finally things broke, over which he quips "I am here to do business and not to provide service for free". He said he will give me discount if I give him a good rating on yelp. Initially I fell for it, but probably chose to not take the money and give an honest opinion here. I feel that many positive reviews here are just a trap from this company to give a discount.Stay away from his company, they initially give you low price, book you for high price upon loading, then give some pittance of discount in exchange of good reviews.

It was very helpful for me

They called me and they gave me a quote. They took all the inventory for quote and I provided them the information. They wanted me to schedule an appointment so they know when to pick it up. They advantage with them was that they also provided services on weekends also so it was very helpful for me. They did arrive on time and everything for the pick up was fine. More or less they delivered on time and everything went well except for a couple of things. One thing is that some of my things were missing and because I couldn't fully set up my bed so I didn't have my bed for about a week or so.

Nobody get backs to me

It's in the process of happening, the movers when they got there were very nice but every time I called to talk to a supervisor or to ask anything about the move, about questions that I had about being overcharged stuff, they keep saying that they'll get back to me but nobody get backs to me. They're kind of leaving me out. I called four times, they're very courteous on the phone but when it comes to the fact that I need to speak to somebody else they just say that they'll have someone call me or that they'll look into it and call me themselves and they never call.....
