100% Completely HONEST Review of Macon ...
I booked the move directly through the owner Landon. He was 100% up front about what Macon Moves does and does NOT do, which I appreciated. I wanted to know whether dissembly and reassembly of furniture was included. He said it was and on moving day, that proved to be true. I also wanted to know if there would be special fees that I didn't expect. He basically said, what you see is what you get. And on moving day, that also proved to be true. It was really important for the move to happen on time. They told me they'd be there by 1PM. At 12PM on moving day, I received a call from their receptionist giving me a heads-up that they would run behind by about 30 minutes. Receptionist claimed the crew's earlier move ran into a snag due to the Customer having a steep incline for a driveway. I felt like they were lying to me so when the Receptionist -- who I think could tell I was incredulous -- said I even have a photo of the driveway, I asked the Receptionist to send it to me. Sure enough, she sent it to me. Turns out, the driveway was steep and the crew was doing their best to uphold their original promise. Thankfully they did end up arriving at 1:30PM, and I received an additional follow-up call around 1PM to confirm that the crew would arrive around 1:30PM. I have NEVER received hour-by-hour updates from a moving company to reassure me of when they'll arrive and to give me a heads-up. I was very pleased. As for the actual moving, Landon and his crew were very careful with all of my pieces, especially the fragile ones. They took their time with valuable pieces and, at the same time, were expedient with everything else to make the most of every minute they were with me. Also, even though this is not expected, they were a very courteous group. The guys always asked for permission before using the restroom, and before arranging certain pieces in the truck a particular way. That kind of politeness and thoughtfulness really makes you feel like these guys truly care about your stuff. One more thing: I bought a new Refrigerator and Washer/Dryer combo for the new house I was moving to. They had not been moved into place. Landon and his crew kindly offered to help move these items - despite there being no expectation -- and did a great job. I was especially thankful for their help in getting the Washer/Dryer combo up an entire flight of stairs, across a long hallway, and then into a tiny laundry room. They went over and above, and all without prompting. A+++ Experience A+++ People Service A+++ Timing Would recommend to anyone without reservation. Plus, if you have the pleasure of working with Landon for your move, just talk to the guy for 10 minutes. He really knows his stuff, as far as how to move things, how to do transport items properly, and most importantly how to treat people. And he's funny. He often made random jokes to his fellow crew members, and I found myself laughing to m
