Would not use them again

I had some negative experiences but overall the move got done. I had a great deal of difficulty contacting people with the questions that I had. The pickup was delayed by a day or two. The price was great. I am not satisfied with their services and would probably never use them again.

Not such a great move

We got some of our stuff. It took them three weeks to deliver my stuff. Personally I feel that they should deliver as soon as they pick up, so that they don't lose my stuff. The pricing is pretty reasonable. They wouldn't return my phone calls. They said they would be here one day and wouldn't show up.

They didn't bring proper equipment to ...

As the movers were 2 ½ hours late on the moving date, we had to change our schedule according to that. They did not bring any equipment to load my things, and they didn't even bring dollies and padding material, which is not good. They charged me an extra $400 on top of the quoted price. I would not use them again.

I had to sleep with my two little kids ...

Initially they told me that they would pick up my stuff by Friday morning. This was about three weeks ago. But they came on Friday night at 1:30 AM and left at 4:30 AM. At that late hour, it was just very difficult to make everyone available. To make matters worse, they didn’t even deliver our stuff until it was on the 12th day from the day of pickup i.e. next Tuesday. Throughout this, we had to sleep on the floor in my new house with my two little kids. When I called them up, I was told that because of the vacation, they were not able to track our stuff. Even then, they couldn’t give me exact information about when I could expect to receive my things. It was such a horrible experience with two kids. Apart from these, they also did some damages to my property. I already informed them about that, but never heard back from them. The only positive thing about their service was that their pricing was reasonable.

A negative experience

I had to fire those movers, they didn't show up for three days and I filed a claims suit with my credit card company. I couldn't have a more negative experience. They were supposed to come on Sunday and every six hours they called and told me they were two hours late and they did this for three days. They didn't return my deposit and I have to file a claim with my credit card company.

They forced us to pay more

It was quite a bore, actually. They said that there were several laws about moving. But they themselves didn’t follow the procedures. They came late. They held our stuff for too long and forced us to pay more than what they had quoted us. Actually, they gave us a reasonable price, but when we got our stuff on their truck, they made us pay more. So, overall it was pretty bad.

Very bad experience

The movers canceled on me on the day of moving without informing me. They are not even returning my deposit. I have tried repeatedly calling them but there is no response.

RUN AWAY!

MOVE IMPROVE RELOCATION AND STORAGE IS TERRIBLE! My daughter's furniture and possessions were delivered damaged and with missing parts. I found Move Improve through Movers.com. I received estimate #N4935772 from salesman Joe. I then spoke to VP Jason Stokes, who assured me they were a reputable company and had a BBB rating of A+, which I did see when following their company's link, so I thought I was dealing with a reputable company. OH BOY, WAS I WRONG! Aug 15, 2012 they were to pickup my daughter's possessions from Madison, WI and deliver to a storage unit in NJ on the 18th. They were supposed to arrive by noon, at 1pm I tried calling and could not get anyone to tell me what was happening. Many times I could not get anyone to answer the phone. They finally arrived at 4:30pm and then asked for a lot more money than my estimate. Joe Schlass and I finally agreed on a price and the Budget Rental truck was loaded very carefully. Joe assured me our things would stay on THAT truck until delivery. On the 18th we waited for the delivery, which never came. In the next few weeks Joe Schlass, when I could get him on his phone(that always has a full message box), promised me delivery over and over again only to then say no and promise another date. I took off from work several times to receive delivery that never came. I have text messages to/from Joe Schlass showing these dates of non-delivery. The bottom line of this review is that our goods finally did arrive in Naples Florida. There were goods missiing and I am not sure how to find them, but I will work on it. The underlined part of this review should read, "Never hire a company that doesn't pick up the phone." I could not get anyone at Move Improve to answer the phone, any phone, for more than a week. We were worried that our entire shippment was gone. We tried e-mail to the sales and manager in Rochester, the other branches in RI and New York. Used the on line e-mail quote page to try and get help. The guys who loaded and delivered the good were very nice but admitted they had not been told to call us 24 hours in advance of delivery.

A nightmare experience!

I had finalized my move, paid the deposit and also an amount that was due at the pick-up, but the company failed to send a driver and basically did not do the job!! We had decided a date (Aug. 15th) with the dispatch person, but the driver doesn't show up on this day. I call up the dispatch and they tell me that the driver couldn't make it today but confirmed on the phone that the driver will come the next day for sure (Aug. 16th). Again the driver doesn't show up and when I call back the dispatch, he is very rude. According to him, since "he is not God" he cannot guarantee when the driver will come. The dispatch could not give me any final date and after a few days of no response from the dispatch, I had to gather that they are not going to do the job at all. Fortunately, I had some friends in Iowa City who were willing to store my furniture for me, because otherwise this would have been a complete disaster for me. At this point, the company has taken $ 725 for me. The dispatch person promised me that I will be issued full refund. This was about one month back. But the company hasn't yet refunded me the money. I went back and forth with the dispatch and with the sales office in Rochester, MN for the refund. At last the sales person told me that the refund cheque(s) have been mailed to me, but it is two and half weeks now since the first refund cheque was "supposedly" sent out and I haven't received it. I asked for the mailing info but they couldn't provide me any!
