Cut original timeset short and ignored ...
This is the message I sent to the movers by email, also by post mail..... All I am asking for is an apology, and will accept it by mail. I think it is important that the public know the following about this company. Dear Quality Moving Co., All of the workers were very nice hard-working guys, and we realize that the type of job they had was somewhat complicated, since I am an artist that collects parts of many kinds to work with. But when you changed the original plan which was supposed to be: 1 day for packing - 1 day for loading the truck, and one day for driving, but, instead you made it for only 2 days, plus sent 9 guys instead of 3 or 4 to my home. This created pandemonium because we could not keep track of which ones needed special instructions for what they would be carrying or packing. It was like they were running to and fro to get the work done on time, meaning that mistakes were made. We accepted the nicks and scratches to a few pieces of furniture, as well as the white chalk smears which were difficult to remove, although it all could have been lessened if the original time slot had been followed. When we met with you before the date was set, we were led to believe that my furniture with drawers would be wrapped or roped before it was carried out, but this wasn't done until on the truck. However, we now understand it wouldn't have been feasible for this to be done inside my condo, so why were we told it was?! My most important chest of drawers that had a note on it.. asking to be carried upright, was not. In fact, some pieces were carried upside down, and parts were lost from a valuable antique! Fortunately I noticed this, and a worker went and located ONE of them. Most of my things were neatly wrapped, but due to time pressure because of eliminating a day's work, some were not, and one fragile piece I found was unwrapped. Also.... some boxes were not labeled, due to time pressure on the workers, and this made our work in Maryland even more difficult. My daughter and I believe that if the original plan had been kept, many or all of the above things would have been avoided. And we were not informed ahead of time about the change. I am under specialized care for severe stress from 2 traumas and other ailments which made me lose 44 lbs in a short period of time, so I feel that this kind of neglect and inconsideration are inexcusable. Sincerely, Suzanna Keats
