A nightmare

I had 5 companies give me quotes to move. All of them were within about $1000 in their quotes. I chose Simplicity because their sales woman was very helpful and positive and their website looked good, with BBB rating. The day of the move, they got all of my stuff loaded up, and then came to me with the "new" price of $14,300. At that point, there was not a lot I could do, and they knew it. On delivery day, one of the trucks went missing, and there was no response from the driver on where it was, This truck had my precious piano on it, and they knew it. I was told I had to pay the balance, and that that truck was right behind them a would be there within an hour (this from a guy supposedly on the phone with that driver). The truck with piano showed up 2 days later. I am still missing some items, one of which is a priceless lamp, and I will pursue the hunt for that lamp until it is found. Having budgeted for a move, and done the correct search and got several quotes, I know that I was ripped off by this company. It is criminal and they should not be allowed to steal from people like this.

A disorganized move

Before the move they never called me and I had to call them. A week before moving no one called. I was not informed about any insurance. There were antique items that were broken. My furniture was broken too but that can be fixed. I was very unhappy. When the stuff came from the truck, all our boxes got damaged. I have done a lot of moving but nothing like this.

Never been cheated worst in my life

I have never been cheated worst by anyone in my life, the way I have been cheated by Simplicity. A quick summary is they lied to us throughout the process, falsely doubled our estimate (from the initial estimate and from what it actually should have been) and made us pay double the amount, which we later discovered on the reweigh, broke multiple federal laws and tried to hold our belongings hostage until we paid them a majority of the money. They basically cheated me out of $3,000. Below are the details. The reweigh indicated that in actuality the initial estimate was correct. I confronted Bridgette about it, and she stated that I could not keep changing my mind about how much I wanted to pay! What? I paid what they claimed I owed, and once I realized I did not actually owe that much, I wanted my money back. I discussed the issue with protectyourmove.org, who indicated that many clauses in their contract are illegal and that they have to reimburse me. I will be taking them to court to get my money back.

Worst Movers in the World-DO NOT USE ...

I read so many bogus good reviews prior to selecting Simplicity Moving and Storage that I can't believe they were truthfully submitted by actual customers. This company should be renamed Simplicity Stealers and Robbers. This company is full of scam artists. When talking to the company for quotes and setting up the move, they always picked up or replied within minutes, not hours or days, minutes. The saleswoman, Paula made herself available even in the evenings and weekends. They quoted me a price of $3600 with a $300 discount for booking before a certain date, which I did. Based on my conversation and estimation for a 4 bedroom house from which we were not taking the dining room set and only 2 bedrooms of furniture with twin beds. They assured me that a 26 foot truck would be more than adequate with room to spare. THIS IS A CLASSIC SCAM AS I LEARNED AFTERWARDS. They quote you a low price with an inadequate truck so they can pressure you on the day you are moving when you learn that all of your belongings are not going to fit on the truck. If I can make a suggestion, pack everything and have a representative come by to see what size truck(s) you'll need and sign a BINDING contract. This way there are no surprises. I was so close to using ABF or PODS and wish I had but I didnt' want to coordinate separate loaders, drivers and unloaders. This was a mistake in hindsight because SO MUCH of my

Dishonest and unprofessional company

I found that this moving company was dishonest right from day 1 and they gave me a lot of false information throughout the moving process that I later found out was not true. There was an issue with the deposit that was charged to my credit card and they ended up holding some of my belongings hostage and requested I pay again. They grossly underestimated the cost of the move and on top of all that, they arrived 24 hours late on moving day.

Friendly and helpful movers

I was very satisfied with my recent moving experience mostly due to the friendly and extremely helpful movers that I hired to assist me. They were efficient and worked quickly from the beginning of the move to the end, and they were punctual and on time throughout all aspects of the move.

Dishonest pricing and deceitful movers

The moving company we used for our recent move ripped us off by charging us for extra things that we should not have paid for. First of all, they showed up to our apartment 2 hours late when we only had 4 hours of time scheduled to make the move. Then, they charged us for more square footage than they originally quoted us for, and charged us for packing tape and shrink wrap even though that was supposed to be included in the price, according to the contract. Even worse, it took a whole 15 days for our belongings to get delivered even though it was only supposed to be 4 days at the most. My furniture was damaged and a few items were lost upon receiving my shipment as well.

Use This Company

I do not have anything bad to say about this company. The sales rep was fabulous and gave me great service. The crews were professional and efficient. Dispatch communicated well. Best of the price was less than expected. Please use this company. You will be happy you did!!!
