Good Ole Fashioned Courtesy
I'd like to commend Jessica for her amazing level of professionalism with handling our move -- with her advice and attention to detail everything went SWIMMINGLY! The actual price came in just a tad over the estimate, and everything was on time and wrapped nicely by nice strong guys with good attitudes.. I've heard some horror moving stories over the years so I was preparing myself for anything, but.. everything was really good. Thank you so much to Swift for helping us out just in time for Christmas -- my niece and her family are moving back here to Kansas soon so I already let them know who to call!

Surprisingly good
We booked our move from Brooklyn Heights to Missouri a couple months ago in October and ended up pushing it to November due to circumstances. Our sales rep George was very accomodating, with us and though we really didn't have a lot of stuff to start with we did have some fragile items that needed additional packing so the price went up, and I was quite fine with that because hey, better than getting it broken right?? So the workers were very professional, explained everything to us, and after that we coordinated with George who kept us in the loop till delivery day. Everything was unloaded, beds reassembled, no hassle whatsoever. Completely professional and cool performance!

Left a six inch hole in my ceiling
While moving my furniture and other items out of my rented apartment #R7 at 300 South Street, Vernon, CT, 06066 on July 30th, 2013, the moving crew from Swift Movers Van Lines, Inc. at 3131 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11236, knocked a hole (approximately 6-7inches in diameter) in the inside ceiling of my apartment foyer, about two feet in from the front door. I immediately notified the building management who sent their head maintenance employee to assess the damage. The Swift Movers Van Lines crew assured me they would tell their office to send me a damage claim form when they got back to Brooklyn. That same day, I vacated the apartment and left the keys with the management office. The following Friday, August 2nd, I received a phone call from Chapman Properties, my landlord in Vernon, and was informed the cost to repair the damaged ceiling would be approximately $1,200.00. I called Jerry at Swift Movers that same day after I hung up with Chapman. Jerry agreed to have the repair estimate faxed to his office to look over and spoke directly with a representative at Chapman. It has taken several weeks to get the charges and justification for the work verified. I only received the final bill for the work, with a breakdown of costs in September. For some reason, to date I have not received any type of claim form from Swift Movers Van Lines, despite several promises to the contrary. I make no judgment or assumptions. I can't imagine it would make sense for a Households Goods Broker, nor the mover they have presumable vetted and assigned to the customer, to see an otherwise very satisfied customer stuck with a bill for $1,168.71 for physical damage caused by the moving crew. I also realize that this was an unusual situation in that I, as a tenant, had no discretion on how the ceiling was repaired. Had I owned the unit, I would simply have had the hole filled in. However, the property owner had every right to have their ceiling restored to its original condition with no visible marks. I am simply asking that Swift Movers Van Lines share the cost of the repair with me, 50/50, and pay the sum of $584.35 to me as I have already settled the issue with the landlord.
