Added charges at the end, and no call ...
The men that did the moving were fine, but the owner didn't put in all his extra added charges and he didn't tell me about when I hired him. There were two extra charges and no receipt, no paperwork no nothing. He (the owner) never answers the phone or calls back.

Changed the price, worked so slowly - ...
There was a lot, they wuoted us one price and then when they arrived, they changed that price almost to double. They moved incredibly slowly. The two men they sent out, my husband and I worked faster than they did and loaded at least half of the truck ourselves and they still charged us double what our estimate was. When we got the new place, they wouldn't allow us to unload the truck and put our belongings into the new apartment until they got cash, and they told me the rest could be put on to a credit card. So they changed the amount, they worked incredibly slowly, they're just a really shady company.

Knowledgeable and quick movers
The moving team, the people who actually came to do the move, were very knowledgeable, very professional and very quick -- and there was no damage. The pricing was very reasonable and their staff was excellent. My advice to future customers would be to request them and to request David for your move. Customer service was fabulous as well and their packing services were very quick and very thorough.

A nightmare
I had a terrible time with the move itself. I certainly think it was subcontracted with a packer and that is what we contracted for, not only to move but also packing. We wound up supplying most of the packing ourselves with our own newspapers. It took over two days for them to pack up and move out. That is, for me, unacceptable. I am only talking about going five blocks, so it's not like we are going into an interstate situation. The pricing was almost comparable. The sensitivity of some pieces was completely ignored - and we're talking about artwork - and I was not happy at all. I would not recommend them at all. At one particular point I could not even contact them and we were right in the midst of the move because of the problems that I was having with the person who was in charge of the actual move. This person took it upon himself even to say that we will move tomorrow and I said no, it has to be today. I don't know where this guy thought we would have an extension of time at two places of moving because both of them were rentals. It went into a situation where at the old address, those people were coming in with a demolition crew tearing out the walls and ripping out the carpet and he was still in there with our furniture. It was a complete chaotic situation and an absolute nightmare. There was no response whatsoever - how many times I tried to get through to them and all I got was a voice mail. So I would never recommend them. My advice to the moving company is to basically check who you are subcontracting because this person, he was supposed to be here at 8:00 but didn't show up till 10:30 and that was three days in a row. I think a lot of people should be warned about something like this. It's unfortunate that we did not have a big enough selection of local movers in Miami, I can't believe that we don't have those movers here, that we would have to get these people coming in from Ft. Lauderdale coming down here to handle these moving jobs.

Would never use them again
I had a horrible experience with them. As far as when I booked them, my moving appointment that they gave me was an 8 am to 9 am slot. And the movers didn't actually arrive until 4 pm. On top of that, when I called to see if they were still coming they were saying that they had a job before me and they will be right on the way. They didn't provide any updates to me. They didn't arrive until late in the afternoon. I had a horrible experience with them and I would never use them again.

MOST HORRIBLE, SHAMELESS, LYING SOB ...
I had the most HORRIBLE experience moving over the last two days and I just wanted to put out a warning to anyone else who is moving to NOT USE Thompsons Moving, INC. http://www.tmovinginc.com/florida_mover_services.html Aside from having to pay double what we were told because they were 3 hours late, they refused to unload our stuff until we paid that doubled fee in cash! They added so many hidden charges and only told us about them after they loaded our stuff. The owner agreed to a price with my husband but threatened to drive off with our stuff unless we paid it all immediately. All of that is not even mentioning the fact that at least 25 boxes came crushed (the metal part of the wardrobe boxes were sticking straight up in the air through the box). I am not one to bash anyone like this but I sincerely do not want anyone else to have this terrible experience. The way they conduct business is shameful and dishonest and the owner, Shawn is a lying, rude and arrogant, deceitful person. Alright, I'm done.

UNWILLING TO PAY FOR BREAKING ITEMS ...
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THOMPSON MOVING FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS ASKING THEM TO REPLACE THE EXPENSIVE GLASS THEY BROKE DURING THE MOVE. THEY ARE UNWILLING TO DO SO. I HAVE GONE THROUGH THE BBB, AND NOTHING. THIS WAS A VERY SPECIAL SQUARE, BEVELED GLASS FOR AN ANTIQUE TABLE. THEY OFFERED ME THE INSULTING AMOUNT OF $30.......THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND THEY MAKE PROMISES THEY CAN'T KEEP. THEY ARE VERY CARELESS WITH THE PROPERTY THEY MOVE.

Get it in "writing." HA, HA, HA!
I have (had) a 6 foot by 23 inch marble top on my dresser. When Shawn Thompson came to give me an estimate, I informed him that this piece must be crated because of it being extremely fragile. He looked at the piece and said it wouldn't be a problem. On the contract he hand wrote, "Creating/all supplies." (spelling as written) When the men arrived there was no crate. They told me Thompson never told them. The piece folded in half like a buttered piece of bread. I immediately called Thompson and was told he forgot to tell them and he would make good on it. I didn't make a scene, and the move was completed. Thompson said he would get on it immediately (this was on a Friday). I told him to find the right repairman and I gave him 10 full days, till the following Monday to do so. Well, he was too busy to do it. Then he had someone already lined up, but he wasn't sure when, and he wasn't sure who, but he was a professional. NOT. NADA. NOTHING! BEWARE OF FALSE STATEMENTS WRITTEN ON BINDING CONTRACTS.

Moving could have never been better!
I must say i am really impressed with this company! these guys were the most humble,hardworking,fun,humorous and professional guys i have ever met! They were a bit late with getting in touch with me but the wait was worth it! they had the lowest price compared to everybody else, their customer representative Chad was a great at the mouth! he spoke like we were family and i booked right away! when the guys arrived in the morning everything went as they said it was. They shrink wrapped every lord almighty thing and also padded everything with blankets as well. The packing was ok to comfort but their customer service had me astonished. i recommend 105 Great Job Guys!Oh, i suggest Marlon and his crew!

Timely service by friendly crew
It was good but we had one little issue with them. They came back and looked at it. Then it was resolved. They were very friendly. They were there whenever I called them, whenever I had questions. They were there. That we liked. Yes they did had reasonable prices. Yes we did received all the services that we requested. The crew members were very friendly. They were very nice guys. They were gentlemen. They were attentive. Yes packing was done up to my satisfaction. They were really good. I think the conditions and the way things - like we had to get out of there really quick but they were okay. They were there with us. They were there till we were done and that is what we wanted. We packed.

Unprofessional service, cheap ...
They used the cheapest tape to wrap the furniture and everything was ruined. I didn't get in the same condition when they move. So the brown tape what they used was really ruining the furniture, the paint, and everything on my doors and on my furniture. Its so hard to see who would be better. How can I forsee it. Their customer service team is great. Their marketing was perfect. Thats why I choose them but otherwise the professional level is not high. They have to really get the future confirmation about what time they arrive and they also have to watch out for what kind of material they used to move their furniture.
