Living room
The living room is the place where the whole family can sit around and hang out. The living room is one of the most used rooms in a home. Usually, the main family television is there, and it’s a great place to host guests. Since it is a common room, you’ll want to use a color that everyone will enjoy. So, for your living room, you should choose warm and earthy tones. Choose calming colors, because the living room is meant for relaxing.
Kitchen
The second most used room in a home is the kitchen. People generally eat three meals a day, as well as snacks. So, you definitely spent a lot of time there. You’ll want to pick a color that is pleasing to the eye - like yellow, gold, and other warm, earthy tones. Yellows generally increase metabolism and give you energy. Reds and dark colors aren’t the best choices for a kitchen because they can be too depressing for a happy room.
Dining room
Once you make food in the kitchen, your next stop is the dining room. You could paint it a shade of red since that stimulates appetite. But sometimes red is an intense color. So, if red isn’t your color, earth tones and pastels will also work. Earth tones also promote good digestion, which is what you want in a dining room.
Office
The office is where you want a color that will help you focus. Blue is a great color for an office because it is a productive color. Even though white is a nice color for an office, it may look too stark and remind you of a cubicle and may stress you out. Bright colors are great choices because they make you feel awake.
Bedrooms
For
the bedrooms, you will want a calming color. Earth tones and pastels are perfect for a bedroom. Bright colors will actually keep you awake, so you’ll want to avoid bright reds, oranges, and pinks. You would think that picking dark colors will be better because they won’t keep you awake, but dark colors are also not the way to go. Dark colors are depressing and you will sleep too much.
Bathroom
You may not think that the bathroom color matters much, but it does. Even though you don’t spend much time in the bathroom, you do go in there often enough. Colors like light greens and blues are most common for the bathroom since they create a spa feeling. If your bathroom is small, you should avoid dark colors since it will make the room feel even smaller.
