Cleaning your home will likely always trigger thoughts and feelings of laziness--and having to spend time cleaning it during the summer may trigger nothing but loathing for chores. With these tips, you'll be able to get your house clean this summer and spring in no time and keep it up through fall and winter. Read on for tips for getting your summer chores done sooner so you can get back to enjoying the season.

Don't let routines fall by the wayside

Before the kids get settled into their summer routines of kicking back and relaxing away from school, make sure you keep them in the habit of doing their normal household chores while they're on summer break.

If their normal daily chores include making their beds, hanging their clothes and washing dishes, then be sure that they keep up their hard work. During the summer, you could easily reward your kids with an extra hour at the water park when they maintain their room.

Do fall and winter maintenance now

If you need to have your furnace maintained or need to make any repairs, it's best to take advantage of the slower season than to wait until the middle of winter. Your wallet may even thank you for doing it now.

Summer discounts on gutter cleaning, carpet cleaning or any other home repair companies are common in the late summer, so if you have anything that needs mending or repair around the house, now is a good time before the hectic schedules of back to school start.

Save time with a cleaning schedule

One of the many tricks to keeping a house clean day-in and day-out is to make smaller routines for yourself -- little tricks to make things easier when you're cleaning so that you can start shaving off time minute by minute in your home. Make a schedule for yourself so you clean one area in your home each day instead of trying to attack the whole house at once. It will be easier to manage and you'll know that you completed your task for the day.

In the kitchen, one of the dirtiest appliances is usually the stove -- grease splatters and sauce spills can be enough to drive a person nuts. Even with more cooking outside, the stove-top will still need some love. Try a homemade cleaner made of baking soda and water to wipe down any food stains.

In the bathroom, an easy way to make sure your tub and shower remain spotless day after day is to give it a quick wipe down at the end of your shower with a mixture of peroxide and Dawn dish soap. You can put the mixture into a sponge with a handle and just do a quick scrub right before you exit your shower to keep it looking clean all week.

Even if you are spending a lot of time outside of your home, there are still days you spend inside making your living room your summer headquarters and your couch becoming the major workhorse. Clear off your couch and fluff up your pillows, generally, if the couch looks clean and tidy, the rest of the room will too. An old sock works great as a reusable duster and you can easily get into nooks and crannies and dust smaller items with your hand than you could with a duster.

Keeping your bedroom clean and tidy during the summer can also be easy to do. In addition to any normal routines you may have for your bedroom (making your bed, hanging laundry), incorporate one or two more that can easily be done in little time. When you're gathering up your laundry to wash, take a sock and quickly run it along your dresser, headboard or bookshelf in your room to get rid of any dust.
