No, you do not need a CDL to drive a 26-foot U-Haul, as it falls below the weight limit that requires a commercial driver's license.
The reason is that U-Haul trucks are not considered to be commercial vehicles, so you don’t need a commercial driver’s license (CDL). This is also the case with any Budget rental trucks and Penske rental trucks.
