BROKE THINGS AND THEY WILL NOT CALL ...

I moved from Georgia to Ohio for a job. I hired this company through a broker. They damaged new furniture, minimal but it was my treadmill that they dropped going down stairs and completely destroyed that I was more concerned about. I e-mailed and they sent me a form to fill out with receipts and pics. I sent it many times and they DO NOT respond. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they would not respond to them. They only owe me a few hundred dollars and cannot respond. This company is horrible DO NOT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!!! Read more

Delivered with Mold Infestation

Stay away from this company. Or at least be warned. We used them through a broker for a move from SC to IN and storage while purchasing our new home. The movers were great. The issues came upon delivery. The delivery was 4 weeks later than requested, which would have been okay. We’d lived without our belongings for a few months, what’s a few more weeks? The day finally came. We were excited. The guys started unloading our belongings. After the first few boxes, I noticed black spots on boxes. I asked the guys to stop so I could look closer and open the boxes. All of our items were covered in mold!!! The guys started shaking their heads and apologizing. After talking with them, they said our belongings had been stored OUTSIDE. We had been paying for climate controlled INDOOR storage per the contract. I asked the movers to get in touch with the owner. No answer for 3 hours. The movers then stated they could not take the items with them as they had more belongings to deliver behind ours. Hopefully the mold didn’t transfer to theirs after being in the same hot truck for days! They left all of our belongings in our garage. After weeks of going back and forth with the owner, he offered $666 to eradicate the mold. He suggested I “simply wipe our stuff down with bleach and take the money”. We have two toddlers with reactive airway disease. Seriously?! I paid a professional to clean the salvageable items - wood furniture, dishes, plastic toys, etc. I requested to file a claim with the insurance as we had opted for $0.10 per pound. It wouldn’t cover the cost of replacement of soft items but would certainly help cover the professional cleaning to have the mold eradicated from the hard goods. I then learn this company only settles claims “in house”. Therefore, there is no outside insurance agency covering your goods. The owner decides if he wants to reimburse you for damages, other you’re out of luck. The owner never attempted to settle this complaint other than the $666 (ironic amount right?) offered in the first few calls made to him. I understand there are hiccups with large cross country moves, but this company is clearly not equipped nor insured to provide the services it offers and charges consumers for. Read more

should be called apts movers minus

Lied about owning their own trucks. Movers did not wear masks or tag my items. Did not del on said date and moved my items once again into a whse. Then they randomly showed up at residence w/o notification (which was under repair). Had to put my possessions in a storage unit at my expense. When boxes removed from truck which had a hole in the roof my boxes were soaking wet and crushed. They lost 13 boxes and del 2 of my boxes to the other stop even though I told them these were my boxes as the other person only had furniture. The misquoted me and said I had 500 cubic ft. when it fit into a 10x10 storage unit. When contacted about the damages they hung up after the mgr denied any liability. How am I suppose to move my washer, bed ... when I'm disabled? If their fully insured what's e problem? I opened just two of the 60 -15 boxes they lost and misdelivered and my clothes, shoes Read more

Great Movers! Professional, careful ...

I hired Apartment Movers Plus thru a broker and I was Very satisfied! Two men showed up, Steven and Jerome. They called ahead to tell me when they would be at my place. They were a bit late (about an hour) because of traffic in Pittsburgh. When they showed up, they were very professional, polite and careful with my things. I would definitely recommend this company for long distance moving. They picked up on a Friday and delivered about 250 miles away on a Sunday. Great service. Read more
