Terrible service

My initial interactions with Gulf Stream were great and honestly through the nightmare process of getting my stuff delivered, they were helpful... To extent. The real problem with them is the company they hired to actually move my stuff. The company lied to me on several occasions, if I called several times in the same day, each employee gave different information that contradicted what I was told by the last. GulfStream Vanlines - NO GO!

Hired GS Vanlines after spending 2 hours on phone going over EVERYTHING we were moving (3 households). paid deposit for 26" truck they suggested. Made sure I could pay rest by Credit card. During QA call, was told no one ever recorded an inventory - waste of 2 hours. DO NOT HIRE

This company is a brokerage, and they will lowball you an estimate and then you end up paying double, if not triple, your quoted price. They claim that they tell you it is a basic rate and the movers quote on site, but we were never told that. We had to accept the price offered as we were leaving the next day, but also had to leave all of our furniture behind because we would have had to pay an additional $2000 for it. These awesome folks were ready for the challenge! They took apart my bed frame and wrapped each piece in soft blankets to keep it safe during the move. I had the absolute worst experience with GS Van lines. Some of the highlights were deceptively low first estimate with a promise of 48 hour cancellation,which then was declined and followed with immediate threats of collection and the rep yelling at me. My move ended up costing more than twice than my original estimate even though I got rid of many items. At no point during my move I knew how much it would cost me to get my stuff back. They subcontract work to other companies,the company I had told me different things that GS Van Lines (e.g. that they would charge me for packing supplies). I do a lot of subcontracting at my job and never had to deal wish such deceitful and rude company. Read more
