My things arrived two weeks later than ...

They promised me that my stuff would arrive on a certain date (which was the date that I needed it) but they didn't arrive until two weeks later. So I had to start my new job and I had to live in an empty apartment for two weeks. I wasn't happy with the service at all. Because of the delay in the delivery I had to buy stuff I already had. What also happened was the screws for my bed are missing, they didn't come with my stuff. The people who came and picked up were really professional and did a good job packing and wrapping things. When we were here in NJ we were supposed to call them to get a delivery date and they said that July 19 was going to be the earliest date and the manager was supposed to call us to confirm. And no one called for a week. So we kept calling, and every time we called they said the manager would call. And the manager never called, so my husband wrote them an email threatening legal action and the next day we got our stuff. We still have three items missing though. Read more

I highly recommend no one go to them

They would call me regularly, more than needed when they had to sign me up as one of their customers. Once they did I paid them. They came on time to pick up the stuff. They picked up the stuff but when they came the truck was broken so it took me double the time to fix everything. I had to take them and get everything fixed. After that, when they left, I told them my delivery needs to be on the weekend. They said yes, and it was on the contract but they did not follow it. They told me the movers are coming this week for delivery. I said, OK. I set up everything to make sure I'm there and they did not turn up. No notification, they did not answer their phone, they don't reply to emails when it's scheduled for delivery because the customer is in a state where they need their stuff, the money is paid and they cannot do anything. I had the worst moving experience of ...

To be honest, the company was horrible. It was the worst moving experience I've ever had in my entire life. I was under-quoted and ended up spending $2,000 more, I had multiple items broken and the truck that my stuff was initially loaded into when I received it on the other end was in a completely different truck. Which means my stuff had been moved twice. Which is why I think so many things were broken. It was just a bad experience. Read more

They raised the price $500 at the end

They spent more time than they said in the beginning. At the end, they arrived until the last minute--until the last day the contract allowed them to come. The microwave is missing. two chairs, some stuff. I was calling them, nobody answered. I wouldn't recommend the company. Read more

Very disappointed

I was very disappointed. They low-balled the price initially. The day before Memorial Day, they called my son and said we're going to come tomorrow. I gave me son $432 to pay for the truck which isn't what we owed. We owed $800 more. So the whole thing instead of $800.10 it cost me and my husband who are retired and 80 years old, $1500. It was almost doubled! And they broke my dishes that I was sending to my son! Read more

Bad experience

We had them pack the load for us including all the dishes except that they left about 9 cubic ft in a cupboard , that we only discovered after theyd been gone an hour and a half and when we contacted them about that it was "so sorry your problem not ours" so we had to at that point find boxes and packing materials... and pack and add to a car that was already full... we were told by the movers that it would be a week to 10 days that our shipment would arrive in Houston Texas from Florida, when 2 weeks and we still hadn't heard from anyone... the driver was relieved of his duties and our furniture was sitting in a storage for 3 weeks.... once it got here and we unloaded and we noticed several items that were packed loosely and were broken and damaged. Excellent to deal with

The experience was very good. They were able to get us on the truck the very next day and moved everything with special circumstances very well, we had minimum damage and we were happy with everything that they did. Pricing was just as quoted, no additional charges. I would recommend them. They delivered on the day they promised. They were excellent to deal with, very prompt with all that. Worst moving experience

It was the worst experience in my life. First of all they gave me a quote. After they gave me the quote, the guy came to my house. They charged me an extra $384 more besides the quote they gave me. That was the first thing. The second was when my furniture got to New York. Okay, they took exactly the time that they were supposed to take to drop it off. When they got there they didn't even try to take the trailer inside the complex. He said that the trailer did not fit. The security told me that they didn't even try to put it in. That was another $240 they charged me. When my furniture got up to the house to the 21st floor, all my furniture was broken. My triple-size dresser was broken. My dining room glass table was broken. Everything was destroyed. My living room set, my sofa was ripped. My boxes were broken. Everything. They just threw everything like it was trash. That is why it is my worst experience. Read more

Disappointing experience

It was not good. The customer service representative was great and was very helpful arranging our move and she stayed available to us throughout the move. It just turned out that she didn't have any power. So the movers did not show up when they said they would show up. It cost us more than they said it would. They agreed to give us some free things because they were late and then they didn't. They didn't show up anywhere close to the time that they told us they would show up in Colorado. So it was kind of contentious. The price was reasonable. Although you can almost guarantee that what they quote will not be what you pay. We did end up having to pay more. We did have some extra things though. I think with this moving company you will always pay more than the estimate. Read more

I recently moved a two bedroom condo from Georgia to York, Pennsylvania with sunshine state moving. This was the best moving experience yet. They picked up everything on time, and delivered on time also, with very limited damages. This was a very stress free move. I would highly recommend sunshine state movers to anyone. Read more

Increased the price in the last minute.

To give you the summary of long story. It is about common thing which happens from moving company - changing the price in the last moment. So they increased $1000. It was supposed to be $1800 and then they charged me $2750 because they said that after they saw my furniture it is bigger than they thought. They need to spend a lot of money on packing. Okay packing I understand. Even though we agreed that it is gonna be $50 or $60. They said finally $226 and then the moving itself for the rest of the furniture they said it is much bigger than.... I told you what is the list. You said it is binding contract. Even though they said no, no. We have to agree. Its more than what we thought. You have four boxes more. Mattress is bigger than what we thought. The TV stand is bigger than what we thought. It is not my problem. Anyway they increased $1000. If I knew that from the beginning I would have definitely not dealt with them. The delivery itself which was on time. Very minor scratches on the furniture. I don't want to make a claim on it. Late delivery, broken items

Took a whole day to load all of my already packed things into the van, then charged double what the estimated the cost once everything was already loaded. They then told me that my things would be delivered no later than April 28th which gave them a full ten days to get everything to its destination, I drove to the same place in three, they did not actually deliver my items until seventeen days after it was picked up. They then tried to charge us a "late" payment fee because apparently we didn't have the type of money order they wanted, which was not specified at all. They also charged us another fee because they couldn't park close enough. I went into my storage unit after they had everything packed in there and the majority of my furniture is broken now, also boxes clearly marked "GLASS" had heavy items stacked on top of them. The whole experience was highly dissatisfying and I am disgusted that they charge so much for breaking my furniture. DO NOT USE

I moved from Florida to New Jersey and used a moving company I had no complaints thought it was slightly pricey. I then decided to move my in-laws from Florida to VA. I shopped around and thought the price that was quoted was great vs. the previous movers I used. Which the other movers quoted me at 2300 and Sunshine state quoted me 1300, which turned into 1998 of course after they picked up the furniture. I went with the cheaper one. BIG MISTAKE. YURY on email says he is the Dispatcher Russian voice talked down to my wife and I, when I asked to speak to the Manager he claimed to be the manager and his manager was in Russia. They were late on the delivery by 4 days. Then they wanted to charge extra to go upstairs, this was never stated. Flexible service but expensive

It was good. I guess they were pretty flexible with the furniture - where we wanted to and stuff like that. The pricing did get me by surprise. Originally when I got a quote from them, it was like $1600 and it ended up charging me like $2600. So it was a quite bit higher than over the phone. A lot of the boxes where they charged like $35 for card board boxes where you can buy those things for two bucks at Home Depot. So that is the kind of expenses - whatever boxes they use they charge you $35. Packing and unpacking was good. Yes I received all the services that I requested. I guess I would recommend them to future customers. However, I would caution them to make sure that they get a price down to where it is supposed to be. Once they start moving, they won't tell you the price until they are finished. So once they have all your furniture on a truck, they hike up the price by a 1000 bucks or 1500 bucks or something like that. At that point you can't do anything. An average move

It was actually - there were some logistical errors that happened. They got mixed up. That part was very very poor. However, the actual customer service that I received was fine. Apart from the the inaccuracy of information in our plan which was a failure, the customer service was good. The price was reasonable. Yes I have received all the moving services except for the accuracy. Packing doesn't apply. They just had boxes but they were careful with the boxes. Nothing was damaged. The crew members were fine. It sounds like everything was fine. They were very responsive. They kept contact with me very well. So that communication was fine. Read more

My moving experience was good. It was alright. I wish the estimate wasn't that better. The estimate was not exact what they said and other than that it wasn't bad.
