In Honduras, the following articles are prohibited for importation under any circumstances:

  • Explosives

RESTRICTED ITEMS

  • Electrical appliances and new items (original receipts and four copies required)
  • Firearms and ammunition (require a permit from the Ministry of Defense and Public Security)
  • Hunting firearms (require a permit from the Secretary of Defense and the Treasury)
  • Alcohol (no more than one bottle of spirits duty free)
  • Tobacco (no more than one carton of cigarettes, one pound of loose tobacco or 250 cigars are duty free)
  • Plants (require a health and/or quarantine certificate and permission from the Ministry of Natural Resources)
  • Antiques and artifacts are subject to strict regulations

  • Dogs also require an additional rabies vaccination certificate and distemper and hepatitis certificates
  • Quarantine is not required for pets coming from the United States
