SHIPPING REGULATIONS
If you are moving to Luxembourg permanently, the regulations for the importation of personal effects (clothing, jewelry, toiletries) and household effects (furniture, rugs, linens, bedding, dishes, other furnishings) include:
- Used household goods and personal effects may be imported duty free if:
- The shipper has lived abroad for at least one year
- The goods have been used abroad by the shipper for at least six months
- The goods will be in his/her possession for at least six months
- New furniture and goods are subject to duties and taxes
- Inventory must detail the contents of each box, terms such as Misc and PBO (packed by owner) are not acceptable
PROHIBITED ITEMS
In Luxembourg, the following articles are prohibited for importation under any circumstances:
- Narcotics and illegal drugs
- Pornography
- Explosives, ammunition and weapons
- Ivory and any animal furs, skins, tusks on the Endangered Species list
RESTRICTED ITEMS
Some articles are limited to certain quantities or require special authorization/ payments of duties and taxes to clear customs in Luxembourg. These items include, but are not limited to:
- Artwork (require invoices for duty free entry)
- Antiques (require invoices, Certificate of Age and Export Authorization from origin country)
- New items and appliances (require T-form, Consumption Declaration and invoices, subject to tax and duties, should be loaded near container door)

MOTOR VEHICLE REGULATIONS

PETS AND ANIMAL REGULATIONS

- Quarantine is not required, but medical examination may be required upon arrival
- Certificate of vaccination required (including proof of rabies inoculation, dated between 30 days and 11 months prior to arrival)
- Health certificate required (dated no more than seven days before arrival, issued by a licensed veterinarian in country of origin)
