Doubled the quote, took 14 hours

I was referred to Available Movers USA by a family friend who knows the owners. Of all the moving companies I’ve used in the past, Available Movers was by far THE WORST experience. What was estimated to be a 5 hour move turned into a 14 hour ordeal. I’ll try to keep this brief: 30 minutes before our scheduled appointment we were told our 3 man crew had someone call out due to a family emergency. As a result, we were told our rate would be slightly lowered from 139 to 109. (This wouldn’t have been as much of an issue if we didn’t later find out that the third crewman was actually sent to another site by the company.) As a result, we had to foot the bill for the substantially longer move with just two crewmen. I assisted the entire move and had to call friends to come help unload the truck after about 10 hours of Available Movers USA moving us. It still took several more hours afterwards. I called to discuss my issues and spoke with Zain. He stated we “had a lot of stuff” and even if there had been 4 man crew, the price would’ve come out to be the same. If I would’ve gladly hired from a more expensive competitor to properly handle our move in a more timely manner. My “compensation” for their inability to properly plan and schedule accordingly, lie to us about the reasons for reduced crew, and to take 3 times longer than what we were estimated, was the Fuel Charge was written off. DO NOT HIRE - FRAUD

At no time did anyone from your company contact me to advise of the significant delay. After your movers failed to show at the time listed on the written estimate I called for an updated time of arrival. It was only then that I was informed you were delayed 2-3 hours. I was then told they wouldn’t arrive until 4pm. The person who gave this information was almost unintelligible. His garbled phone connection and difficulty with English made it extremely difficult to understand him. He called back at 2:07PM and said the movers would be there within half an hour. I did not appreciate their business ...

It was not great. I felt like they were taking advantage of me. I did not appreciate their business practice. The price that they quoted me was not THE price. When they got to my place they told me it was going to be considerably more. They gave me two people to move from my two bedroom home to three bedroom home. To do it in three hours. Two people to move a home in three hours. And they were going to charge me an additional $75 for every half hour they went over. And they knew going in it was going to be over three hours. Read more

Best Moving Company I've hired to move ...

We moved April 18th, 2014. Three guys showed up started carrying heavy boxes on their backs, AMAZING JOB!! Had us moved with 5 1/2 hours from a two bedroom apartment packed with lots of boxes and lots of furniture. I recommend Available Movers to friends, family, anybody I come across to us them.
