Don't use them. Bad service. no ...

Don't use them! They seem nice and will damage your home and belongings if they even show up. The receptionist Larissa was super thorough but the good experience ended there. On the day of the move Matt texted that the guys were running late and would be there about 12 noon. They were scheduled to be there by 0900. They showed up closer to 1 with 2 men for a job I was quoted for 3-4 guys for. They had already moved another family even though I booked a month out and should have been the only job for this crew that day. The receptionist said they would cover all floors, but they had nothing to cover them with. The poor guys. I know the manager only scheduled the 2 of them on a 3-4 man job, knowing they couldn't do it. At 8:30 pm, they informed me that the rest couldn't fit even though the inventory list included all of my large items. My floors were covered with mud, water, leaves. My yard was torn up where they trampled the muddy lawn while loading the truck. There were wrappers from their dinner in the basement bedroom on the floor. When they tried to start the truck, the battery was dead and they had no cables and couldn't find the battery. After unloading my own car to get the cables and googling to find the battery, we got it running. At the new house, they made me pay them before unloading but the rate per hour was higher than it was originally quoted and included their 2nd dinner break and the time to get the truck running. At the new house, they slid or rolled boxes down the basement stairs and put things in the garage we told them did not belong in there. They finished at 0145. They scratched floors in both houses. They joked that they tell people the truck is full so they can get done earlier. The manager Matt was disrespectful when we asked for a discount for the breakdown. Matt had no intention of treating the crew or his customer properly. They charged 30% more than quoted. Don't use this company. I hope the employees sue for break time violations.

Scammers

This company is a scam. The owner doesnt even have the correct licenses to operate. He takes your money and maybe he will move you maybe he won't. Read the contract carefully. Once you book and give your deposit he can keep it after 24 hrs. He carries no business insurance. So if anything gets broken or damaged good luck getting him to pay for it. He doesn't communicate so if he is late or not coming you will never know. His office stuff will sell you lies and promises they can't deliver. His rates change when you pay after service and he will keep your belongings on the truck until you pay. He charges for more men then are at the job. His office stuff quote 3 to 4 men but can't deliver because he makes them double and triple book jobs. Even if you book months or weeks in advance. He will go with the jobs that make him the most money.

Not at all what was promised

We wanted to move a three bedroom house. Everything. Beds, tables, desk, etc. They were expecting to move 50 boxes. Neither my wife or I mentioned 50 boxes. We were also told three movers would show. There were two. When my wife said it was the whole hose, they started adding in hours. We have always said it was the whole house. Then they started yelling at my wife. VERY unprofessional. They need to fire the gentleman my wife and I spoke with as he seemed not to pass along information (including addresses, items and phone numbers).

AVOID AT ALL COST

This is by far the worst moving company I’ve ever had the misfortune of coming across. 7 hours late, no communication the entire time, asked me if they could reschedule 2 hours after the agreed upon arrival time, and refused to give my deposit back when looking to discuss price to cover to inconvenience of holding me and the rest of my moving plans up (had to reschedule handing the keys over to my old place). Absolutely horrible experience that left my new apartment with brand new holes in the walls and scuff all along the walls, please use any other moving company.

Avoid these guys

Avoid these guys. They are irresponsible, unreliable, and just a hoax. I had arranged for their services for a week in advance while they canceled on me at the last minute without having the courtesy to let me know. They were supposed to pick up my stuff at 10:30 am and after 12 pm, they never answered my phone and never showed up. Due to their actions, I paid $2150 for a late fee to my Apartment because I had to return the keys by 5 pm that day but couldn't. I hope this message would be a start to bring their business down as no one like these guys should promise people to move their stuff again.

Great movers!!

This move was great. Matt and his team came in and busted their butts. One mover wasn't my favorite but Matt made up for it with his hard work and obvious passion for his work. I would use them again

Recommended SLC Movers

It's difficult to move - period, and even more difficult during a pandemic. And to add to this stressful time - I didn't have my husband around since he was mobilized with the US Army. So when Mathew and his colleagues arrived at my home on moving day and heard me say that I needed to push the date back two weeks later, they were beyond professional and empathetic. We rescheduled and two weeks later they took the stress out of moving. Mathew and his crew were a hard-working, fun-spirited, and professional duo in the way that I knew that the work was personal to them. And when I changed my mind, multiple times, about where I wanted to bed or another piece of furniture - they helped me without hesitation. I'm delighted that I connected with Gentle Touch Movers.

Worst Moving experience ever

In short, it was a nightmare. I have googled this company and found several bad reviews. Because of the low estimated quote they offered, I ended up ignoring those bad reviews and hiring them. It was a mistake. Their movers showed up very late and tried including those missing labor hours into my bill which was ridiculous. Hidden fees, broken furniture, ungentle manner, and unprofessional service. I should have trusted those bad comments in the first place. Don't waste your money. Don't make the same mistake I did. Go find a moving company has a better reputation.

FRAUDSTERS and Liars

Gentle Touch Movers, Midvale, Utah is the worse moving company I have ever used. Charged me more than quoted. Damaged/broke many items. The manager Matt Holyfield said they put in a claim to their insurance. I have yet to see any money..4 months later! The insurance company they said they have has never heard of them. This is insurance fraud!

BUYERS BEWARE.

UNPROFESSIONAL. UNRESPONSIVE. FRAUDSTERS. BEWARE. SCAMMERS. Never responded with substantial information for a claim they "submitted" from damage that resulted from a move I contracted them for. Kept on giving me the runaround and finally just dropped off the grid. Don't trust them. Not worth the hassle. They were nice until the bill was paid in full. Never again. Horrible

This moving company never showed up for their scheduled move. When called they lied to say that they had tried and left a message the day before to reschedule for later in the day. When pressed,they refused to apologize or alter their rate and then tried to reschedule for the next day. Monday. A day when working people work. I told their receptionist that that was unacceptable. That my wife and I had work and that we had to take our kids to school and that I wanted to speak to her manager. She said he would call. Never did. Super unprofessional. Ridiculously incompetent. Don't waste your time.
