Brief overview
With a lower cost of living, low pollutions levels, and higher scores in education related tests (Verbal and Math SAT), Oklahoma offers a reasonable choice to move to. However the child health in the areas of infant mortality, teen birth and death rates are alarming. So are the increasing crime rates.

OK is rightfully referred to as Indian Country – it has native American population larger than any other state has. The tribes also have excellent museums. Powwows take place every weekend from May through September and are almost always free and open to the public.

Apart from all kinds of water sports, you may find these interesting to escape in the weekends - National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City, the annual OK Mozart International Festival in Bartlesville held in June, the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, the Cherokee Cultural Center with a restored Cherokee village, the restored Fort Gibson Stockade near Muskogee, the Lake Texoma recreation area, pari-mutuel horse racing at Remington Park in Oklahoma City, and Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw.

Song: Oklahoma

Written by Oscar Hammerstein II
Music by Richard Rodgers

Brand new state! Brand new state, gonna treat you great!
Gonna give you barley, carrots and pertaters,
Pasture fer the cattle, Spinach and Temayters!
Flowers on the prarie where the June bugs zoom,
Plen&apoy of air and plen&apoy of room,
Plen&apoy of room to swing a rope!
Plen&apoy of heart and plen&apoy of hope.

Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin&apo down the plain,
And the wavin&apo wheat can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain.
Oklahoma, ev&apory night my honey lamb and I
Sit alone and talk and watch a hawk makin&apo lazy circles in the sky.
We know we belong to the land
And the land we belong to is grand!
And when we say--Yeeow! A-yip-i-o-ee ay!
We&apore only sayin&apo You&apore doin&apo fine, Oklahoma! Oklahoma--O.K.
