More people in South Dakota believe that people are honest than the national average. Their commitment to the children's education is appreciable as per their attendance in the school meetings and the better scores obtained by kids in SAT, verbal and math. The state is slightly less costly than the national average, and the lower taxes would be a definite point to consider.
Poverty and unemployment rates are low. But the flip side is there are more number of property and theft rates in South Dakota.
Attractions in the weekends include the Black Hills where the famous Mt. Rushmore, depicts the faces of four American presidents. And only a few miles away, a tribute to Native American culture is emerging in the form of the Crazy Horse Memorial. Other tourist attractions include the Badlands; the World's Only Corn Palace, in Mitchell; and the city of Deadwood, where Wild Bill Hickok was killed in 1876 and where gambling was recently legalized. |
