Brief overview
Wyoming has positive points in the areas of honest people, trustworthy people (result of a survey conducted by Times Lifestyles). The cost of living is marginally lower than the national average, the taxes not at all pinching, pollution being two thirds of the national average. Added to these, lower unemployment, higher scores in education in spite of lesser number of colleges.

The health figures are not so satisfactory, the state ranks in the bottom 10 in the list of new economy states.

It is considered in many ways that living in Wyoming is a difficult thing, since it is geographically isolated and is prone to weather extremes. No wonder this ninth largest US state has the least population. It has three times as many cattle as people.

In 2000 Wyoming ranked second among the states in wool production (exceeded only by Texas) and third in sheep and lambs (exceeded only by Texas and California); major attraction being the Yellow stone national park.

Song: Wyoming

Written by C.E. Winter
Composed by G.E. Knapp

I

In the far and mighty West,
Where the crimson sun seeks rest,
There&apos a growing splendid State that lies above,
On the breast of this great land;
Where the massive Rockies stand,
There&apos Wyoming young and strong, the State I love!

Chorus

Wyoming, Wyoming! Land of the sunlight clear!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Land that we hold so dear!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Precious art thou and thine!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Beloved State of mine!

II

In the flowers wild and sweet,
Colors rare and perfumes meet;
There&apos the columbine so pure, the daisy too,
Wild the rose and red it springs,
White the button and its rings,
Thou art loyal for they&apore red and white and blue.

III

Where thy peaks with crowned head.
Rising till the sky they wed,
Sit like snow queens ruling wood and stream and plain;
&apoNeath thy granite bases deep,
&apoNeath thy bosom&apos broadened sweep,
Lie the riches that have gained and brought thee fame.

IV

Other treasures thou dost hold,
Men and women thou dost mould;
True and earnest are the lives that thou dost raise,
Strengthen thy children though dost teach,
Nature&apos truth thou givest to each,
Free and noble are thy workings and thy ways.

V

In the nation&apos banner free
There&apos one star that has for me
A radiance pure and splendor like the sun;
Mine it is, Wyoming&apos star,
Home it leads me near or far;
O Wyoming! All my hear and love you&apove won!
