Can I put things in the car when I ship it?

No, you cant have your personal items in your car when shipping. This is for three reasons.

• License & insurance: It is against FMCSA regulations for car shipping companies to transport personal items within a vehicle. In addition, the companys insurance does not cover the damage. Car shipping companies do not insure you for the belongings you place inside your car.
• Excess weight: Car shipping transport trucks have certain weight limits they must adhere to. If your car is packed with hundreds of pounds of personal items, it can cause the truck to be overweight, resulting in a fine for the trucker. It can also damage your car.
• Safety: Extra weight in the car could cause damage to your vehicle during loading and unloading.

While we understand that sometimes shipping personal items is needed, its important to know why so many companies discourage it. There are many risks involved, so if you want to pack your car with belongings, here are some guidelines you need to follow:

• Items must be below the windows height or inside the truck.
• The total weight of your goods must be 100 pounds
• Items like alcohol, firearms, flammable items, drugs or anything hazardous must not be included inside the vehicle.
