Totally pleased with our move

This was our first local move in the area and we had no experience or knowledge of the various movers other than seeing their trucks on the road. Since online reviews ran the gamut from 1star to 5stars and everything in between , often for the same company, some stress set in as to which company to choose. Fortunately a neighbor whom we knew had very high standards for herself recommended Big Boys Moving without reservation. She had used them twice and her son twice and all four moves had gone extremely well. We therefore went with Big Boys with the expectation of a stress and problem free move. That definitely turned out to be the case. All personnel we came in contact with, from office and sales staff by phone and email getting information and explaining costs and policies, and especially the two men who moved us (Doug and Darcy) treated us with respect and care. Doug and Darcy did a fabulous job, working efficiently and virtually without break during the 5 hours they were with us, virtually all of which was the physical aspect of the move (it wasonly about a 30 minute drive to our new location), disassembling beds, dining tables, loading and unloading heavy and delicate pieces and then assembling and positioning furniture in our new home. They handled everything with extreme care and a very apparent desire to do a first class job, which they definitely did! Once again made our move amazing

Big Boys Moving once again made our move seem easy. After hearing great things about them back in 2016 this was actually the second time we have used them and because of the fantastic service they earned my repeat business. I never thought twice about trying anyone else. I didn't take the time to review them back them and needed to now. They're well known in Tampa as a reputable family run business. Please read before choosing

I scheduled a move of a 2 bedroom apartment, which 2 people live in. One bedroom was unfurnished aside from two small bookshelves. The entire move of 37 miles took just over 12 hours, being billed at an hourly rate. Twelve hours, for a 2 bedroom apartment. Both apartments were third floor units. The movers arrived in a rented Uhaul truck, not the branded trucks pictured repeatedly on the website. They proceeded to carry small to medium boxes, 1-2 at a time up and down the stairs, not using any of the equipment they had. I witnessed them stand outside their truck and have a conversation with the apartment maintenance staff about the shoes one of the movers was wearing. I witnessed one of the movers not be present for periods of time, and then would be walking over from the next building, the opposite direction of the truck. The billing, again, was an hourly rate. They tried to tell us the last large item wouldn't fit in the truck, so they couldn't take it. When they actually were told to take it downstairs, it fit easily. At the unload site they said their boss didn't realize it was a third floor move, so they weren't prepared, and what is why it was taking so long. A communication from and to their company beforehand indicates third floor. At the "completion" of the unload, the movers departed with the following not completed: Dining room table not reassembled, multiple pieces of furniture still wrapped in moving blankets, feet were not reinstalled on couch. We had provided a dozen bottles of cold water for them at each location, and found them thrown on the ground in the stairwell outside the new apartment. I attempted to contact Big Boys during the move to express my concerns, but only received recorded messages about how busy they were. I emailed them on the moving day, with no response. On moving day +5, I contacted them via phone, was was informed they only correspond via email. That day I did recieve an email stating they had "requested copies of all documentation so that I can respond to all the matters brought to my attention." I emailed asking for a follow up 7 days later, on moving day +12. No response. I called asking for a follow up the next day on moving day +13, with no response. I called once more and did have the opportunity to discuss the problems with a company representative. She was dismissive from the beginning repeatedly referring to the "black and white" of the contract. I asked if she was willing to give me any accommodation for the problems, which she was not. I explained I would be forced to relay the facts of my move wherever possible. She responded by informing me she "has Google too" and can write what she wants. They worked quickly and efficiently, doing everything that I asked of them without making me feel the request was an imposition. Hard workers, easy to deal with...

It was pretty straight forward. They came out, did an estimate, on the day of delivery they showed up on time, a couple of guys moved all the heavy stuff out and did a great job. Hard workers, easy to deal with, easy to talk to; cordial. Moved us on over to our permanent place, moved it where we asked. No problems at all and it came in within the estimate. Read more

Terrible movers

They were bad vustomer sevice furi h quoting process but their ads bragged about being top Tampa movers. Well their two guys were nice but cluless onhow to pack a moving truck. It caused hourss of delay, they never even finished my job by not doing my storage unit. To mske worse OVER $2000 of furniture damage and they offered me $100.00 by a furniture repair guy that wad NOT a real refinisher -- thats what he said, but certainly knew how to use a wax crayon that was Furniture colored that anybody could buy it Home Depot which is of no value when you're talking about very expensive Fine Furniture which was deeply scratched 3 pieces of expensive furniture Read more

Best movers that you will find in ...

I read a lot of reviews on moving companies and have always put more weight with Google reviews than Yelp, but was carefully optimistic in choosing a provider. I initially chose Big Boys Moving due to Brian Prestridge. He was very quick to respond back from a form submission, answered my questions and more importantly gave me a fair estimate which I though was honestly to go to be true…. since a 5BR quote was what I considered A LOT OF STUFF! My move was up in the air a bit with a couple dates and Brian was able to set my expectations properly, make my stresses subside a bit. There was confusion on my part thinking boxes were included, but Brian let me know that Lowe’s / HD had wide array of boxes that were inexpensive, so the adventure began in packing the house. Exceeded my expectations. Best movers ...

If I could give six stars I would. I moved from South Tampa to Wesley Chapel. The movers were very friendly and did everything we had asked of them, and when they were done they asked if there was anything else they could help us with. Ours move was a BIG one - and Big Boys Moving & Storage handled it with ease! We lived 15 years in our six bedroom home (full) Garage and shed (full) with leftovers of three of our past businesses - that was us - they moved A LOT OF STUFF! Terrell, Anthony, Matt and Chad headed up an awesome team. From the minute they arrived they were hustling. They worked very well together. They blanketed and wrapped and safely loaded all of our furniture. It was clear that they were well trained professionals. Due to a closing issue on our new home our belongings remained in their trucks and went to their company warehouse storage yard overnight with unloading done the next day. Both were all-day jobs and both days these men worked very hard; they were prompt, pleasant, funny, caring and considerate. They hardly took any breaks, they were neat and tidy. I'd read so many horror stories online about other peoples' moves - our experience was nothing like that! All-in-all -extremely happy with this company! Great service! Saved me $$

Spoke with Amanda and after I told her all the furniture etc. we had she quoted me 3 hours. The movers arrived, with great attitudes and a whole lot of energy, wrapped and made sure our stuff was safe and did it quickly. No fooling around with these guys! Excellent moving company. Polite, well ...

My friends and family had always helped over the years but this time I was on my own. I was afraid to hire a moving company but Big Boys really came thru for me. The movers Matt and Anthony were very hard workers and very professional. I was nervous about them moving my grandmothers antique rocking chair and baby crib but they took extra special care. They wrapped everything and did not charge me extra. The price ended up exactly what the lady in the office told me it would be. When I move again it will be with Big Boys. Read more

The company did not provide the movers ...

They sent a truck that did not have a lift on it ... It was broken and I had some very large pieces of furniture. I don't know how the two guys that came managed to get the furniture into the truck. And I have a sloped driveway so ... If they had had a lift it would have been much easier. And so the furniture was kind of roughed up too. So I wouldn't call them again, let's put it that way.
