Hello, and thank you for visiting Movers.com!
If you signed a contract and gave a deposit, unfortunately it is highly unlikely the moving company will refund your money. You can certainly cancel your move, but the company has no legal obligation to return your deposit.
You don't provide any details on why you have changed your mind about the company. If the moving company has not performed any services for you or violated your contract, you would not be able to file a claim or contact any federal regulatory agency. If in fact, they have behaved unethically, you can contact the FMCSA and file a claim form and they may be able to help you get your deposit back.
In the future, keep in mind the request for a deposit is usually a sign a moving company is illegitimate. You should not have to pay anything until services are rendered.
