Moving Nightmare
I originally contacted InAndOutMover.us as they had good reviews. Unbeknownst to me, they subcontracted the job to KLM. On delivery, there were missing and many broken items. My experience with KLM has been incredibly disappointing. They moved my household goods from Hanford, CA, to Lakeview, Michigan in late July. The items were put into storage until my new home is ready. After going through things in the storage unit, I'm just now realizing how much damage was done. The washer and dryer are now completely useless as the consoles have been separated from the main bodies of the machines. Two, one side of the dryer has a huge gash in it. They somehow "lost" my new Dell computer and a brand new 28" ViewSonic computer monitor in addition to a large restaurant-style utility rack. God only knows what else I'll find. To be fair, the men who packed my belongings in Hanford were thorough, and, I felt did a good job, although I was greeted with the unpleasant surprise extra fee of $1,500.00. Seems that there were more cubic feet than originally planned for. I asked the driver how he knew that, and he relied, "Oh, I measured it." How the heck was I supposed to know if he was telling the truth or not?! The truck must have been at least 26' long, and was already half-full with someone else's goods. I have no idea what happened in the interim time it took during the shipment, but, whatever happened, it wasn't good.
