Every country's custom guidelines and regulations are different, so you'll want to get in touch with a customs representative located in the DR to ensure engines are not prohibited items.

Unfortunately, we are under the impression that separate car parts (including engines) are prohibited unless they are currently inside a vehicle. There are also restrictions on the size of the engine and the type of car.
