How much does a crib weigh?

Most portable cribs are typically within 50-75 pounds, but stationary cribs tend to be a bit heavier – closer to 100 pounds. If you still have the assembly instructions or manual from the manufacturer, it will most likely have the exact weight and dimensions of the crib.

Tips for packing your crib

• If you have a portable crib, this will of course be much easier to transport than a stationary one, as most models are collapsible and can be folded up and stowed easily in a personal vehicle or moving truck. Be sure to remove any mattress pads, toys, blankets, or any other items that would hinder the crib’s folding mechanism.
• Stationary cribs typically have about four main pieces to it – if you don’t have the original instructions, you will need to identify where these pieces join together, and what type of hardware is used (ie bolt, screw, etc.).

• Once all sides of the crib have been taken apart, pack all hardware in a separate small plastic bag (labeled). You can tape this bag to one of the main components of the crib so the hardware does not get confused with any other screws, brackets or bolts you may be transporting.
• You can pack the large parts of the crib in moving blankets to ensure optimal protection during transport. If you are storing it, be sure to keep it in a dry place to avoid any warping (if the crib is made of wood).
