Good afternoon and thanks for visiting Movers.com for help with your question.

Even though we can't offer you exact prices for you to move only 20 blocks we can offer some suggestions.

Moving Companies

If you're looking for a company to complete your entire move -- packing, transporting and unpacking, then feel free to fill out a free quote form on our small moves page. You'll be connected with moving companies in your area of NYC who can move you the 20 blocks downtown. Small movers specialize in moves that weigh less than 2,000 pounds and that don't cross state lines. They'd be able to pack your items and perform the entire move for you if you wanted to go that route.

Moving Labor

If you're only looking for one or two people to move your items with you or for you, you can look into hiring moving labor (we have a quote form for that also). Hiring moving labor will get you the help you need if you're not looking for a full-service move. Generally, the companies that send out the helpers charge per hour. For example, for two helpers it could cost $150 per hour. Once you fill out your information, you'll be able to look at a list of moving labor in your area and you can pick and choose which options best fit your needs.

Moving Day

If this is your first move within NYC and you plan on renting a moving truck, keep in mind you may need to get a parking permit for your moving truck for moving day. If you decide against hiring moving labor or a moving company, and you plan on utilizing the help of family and friends, here are some tips for using the service elevator in your high rise apartment on moving day.

Thanks again for visiting Movers.com, we wish you the best of luck with your move.
