Awful Company
This is one of the worst companies we have ever done business with. If we could, we would give 0 stars. When we initially contacted them about our move from CT to TX, we felt very comfortable with the person who helped to estimate the cubic footage of our possessions. She was kind and efficient. That is the only person who works for, or is affiliated with, this company that is helpful. From there it was all downhill. We were told that they should be able to accommodate our requested move/pick-up date as we had booked so far in advance. Of course, as it got closer, we were told that the pick-up date was not the one we preferred. We dealt with that and made the best of it. We were also told our possessions would be the only ones on the truck and not mixed with our families. This proved to be untrue. On the day of the pick-up, the employees seemed nice enough, however they told us our things would be sent back to the warehouse in NJ and then put on a bigger trailer. We clearly marked all items as either going to our apartment or to our storage unit. We suggested that they be packed on the truck as such so that all items could be unloaded more efficiently. We were told this would happen. Of course, it did not. Once we were in TX, we called a couple of times just to check the status of our delivery date. Eventually, they told us we would receive a call the day prior to delivery. Of course, that did not happen. The day of the delivery, we texted the driver and inquired about an updated estimate and were then told it would be that day. As we mentioned above, we were supposed to have received a call the day before. When we contacted North Van Lines directly, we were threatened by the COO. She said that if we did not accept delivery that day, they would send our things back to NJ and have to reschedule delivery for 2 or more weeks later. Of course, because we needed our things, we acquiesced and had to take time off of work unexpectedly. When the truck finally arrived about 90 minutes after we were told they would arrive, we had to stand outside the entire time and tell them what items were to be brought upstairs to the apartment and what should stay on the truck to go to the storage unit. This is because, contrary to what we were told, they did not separate the items as we requested and were promised. Then as they were unwrapping furniture items, we started to discover all of the damage. They ripped the legs off of one end table that were glued on. There was no reason that these needed to be removed to move it. We also saw that our metal base for our dining table was not wrapped at all resulting in many deep scratches and marks that cannot be repaired easily, if at all. There were many other items damaged as well. Then when we got to the storage unit, they started just piling things in the unit everywhere without any real organization. It looks like a Jenga tower in spots. Not only is it very difficult to find an
