Absolutely awful

Long Distance Van Lines is an absolute scam. They charge you way more ($1000!) than they quote you even with detailed dimensions of how big everything is. They don't tell you when you're expected to get your furniture by (or if they do, they're off by days). And they are careless with the furniture itself. My piano (somehow?) got fingerprints *molded* into its veneer! I have no idea how that happened given that they covered it in a blanket, and I can't get rid of it! The furniture my late grandfather had made was all banged up and chunks of it were ripped off. I had mugs broken that were carefully packed in boxes. I had boxes that were somehow all wet and they didn't even notice. I had to submit a claim to get money back for the damage they did to the furniture my grandfather made, which ended up being about $400 worth of damage. They eventually got me my check, but it took them so long that I had actually moved out of the place they helped me move to (1 year later). I had to call them constantly, and it was always someone who couldn't tell me anything about how long it would take. If you are moving with anything valuable, are worried about the price, or need your furniture in a timely manner, don't trust this company. They are completely disorganized, unprofessional, and careless.

We chose this company because they were very clear with their rates and charges. Their quote was not the lowest but we were pretty sure the other companies would have tacked on a heap of extras considering how ambiguous they were. The move went off without a hitch.

These guys are a no-nonsense team of pros who know what to do, how to do it, and complete their job on time. My old home was a moving nightmare of stairs, narrow hallways and corners but they were all handled with quiet precision. An A+ move.

Great move despite the fact that the weather did not help at all. All our stuff was shrink wrapped carefully and moved with a lot of care – everything arrived without any damage and either from the moving or the weather. Great team of friendly guys.

I can’t imagine moving without Long Distance Van Lines anymore. We have used it not just for our home moves twice but also for two company moves. Each time, the service is excellent and very good value for the price. This time, we were moving our 3-bedroom home in Missouri to a bigger 3-bedroom house in PA. As always, we picked Long Distance Van Lines and, as always, they gave us the best in terms of cost and professional service. Our two movers this time were Nick and Andrew but we also have to commend Jordan in the LDVL’s office for bringing it all together so well.

Responsible and trustworthy

We had a major issue during our move – the movers accidentally damaged a wall at the 2-bedroom property out of which we were moving. Not only would that have meant a loss of our security deposit, but it would be a huge hassle to manage an issue in Ohio from Tennessee, to where we had moved. Fortunately, Jay from the Long Distance van Lines office contacted the owner, taking responsibility for the damage. I did not need to intervene, which was very, very professional of him. The movers cannot be faulted either, it was just one of those things.

Complicated move went off smoothly

We had two main problems with moving – one was the narrow hallways of our old home and the other, the stairs in the new one. LDVL’s movers managed to handle both with ease and all our items and the building were unscathed. I also want to commend them for sticking to the schedule despite the rain and helping us maintain order in this chaotic moving time. Anna, their customer service officer is also very helpful with a lot of useful information.

The right people for fragile items

I was so sure that I would have items broken during a move again I nearly opted for (very expensive) moving insurance. Instead, it seems you can save your insurance money and your precious items by just choosing Long Distance Van Lines. The movers were definitely careful with all my things when moving them but they also went out of the way to ensure that all the items I had packed myself were protected and safe. Their great attitude coupled with how they made every deadline from packing to move-off to arrival to finishing the job tells you what a great company this is.

Good

I had Alex and Bogdan on move day. They called before they arrived, were punctual and did not waste time getting to work. If only they could have done all my previous moves… The main reason I chose Long Distance Van Lines is that they offer a great deal compared to many of the other companies I looked at. There were several that were cheaper but those seemed to be rather shady operations I did not feel comfortable leaving with stuff with. Sam, the sales manager, convinced me to give them a try.

Super-fast, super-efficient

I don’t know what I’d have done without Long Distance Van Lines! I had to make an emergency move to Texas from my NY studio for personal reasons and they helped coordinate and execute the whole thing at short notice. A special shout out to Kelli, the sales manager, who made the whole thing come together so quickly and so well. The two guys with the truck were Mike and Alex, and they are the perfect balance of speed and care – nothing turned up lost, or broken. This is what you get when a company actually cares about customer service – highly recommended!

I feel so happy that I hired a great team. The best minds relocated me to Iowa from New Jersey. It was a long relocation, but they managed it. It was such a smooth process. I can’t thank them enough for the job well done.
