SCAMMERS!!! HELD MY FURNITURE HOSTAGE!
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE HIRE THESE MOVERS, THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!! I was looking for local movers in the Tampa area on Google when I came across these guys being advertised as "$99/h for 2 men and a truck". I had to move my 3/2 townhouse into a storage unit 15 minutes away, and we were 98% ready to go by the time the guys got there. When I first called for a quote, I mentioned to the guy "Thomas" that we were in a 2 story home and had to move all our stuff out. We did not need assistance packing or disassembling the furniture, as everything was going to be ready to be transported... The guy Thomas kept telling me any time I had a question, $99/hr for 2 men and a truck... I asked if there was any cost additional to move a washer and dryer, and again he responed $99/hr for 2 men and a truck... On the estimate online I noticed something that said "fuel surcharge $136.79" and "additional services - truck cleaning "$75". Estimated labor time 3-6 hrs, travel time 2hrs 30 minutes. Non-binding estimate and provided for your convenience, and the smallest letters "we charge double drive". NOT KNOWING THEY WERE COMING FROM MIAMI, as this was NEVER mentioned to me since I was looking for "LOCAL MOVERS", I kept asking the guy questions and he kept saying $99/hr for 2 men and a truck, to the point in my brain he got me to believe that was what I was going to be charged for... The day of the move, they showed up to my house and they had me review a blank contract that was blank initially, and he would fill out as they went... They told us that Shrink Wrap was free and included, and any additional packing materials would be charged separately... Which I didnt think anything of, considering we were almost entirely packed, so I would think that MINIMAL amounts of packing materials might be needed. The biggest mistake was signing the paper (DO NOT SIGN THE PAPER WITHOUT READING ALL THE WAY THROUGH). They said they would get started packing, and payment would be due in the form of Cash, Money order, or Zelle before unloading at the storage unit. These guys took over 3 hours shrink wrapping furniture alone, which they did very slowly, taking constant smoke breaks, constantly on their phone, and taking their sweet time, and an additional 2+ hours to load the truck... I grew concerned that we were reaching the $800 mark... In addition to that, they also charged us $200 a piece for 4 heavy items (washer/dryer/2 dressers), regardless of the guy on the phone telling me $99/hr for 2 men and a truck... while they were moving my washer, they also dropped it about 5-6 steps, and I heard it, and when we questioned them they said "no we didnt drop anything" although the washer was clearly dented... they said that was there before. Upon arrival to the storage unit, my husband was handed a bill for $2600!!! We immediately tried calling Thomas and he ghosted us. They held our stuff HOSTAGE for 2 hours until we finally had to pay them. DO NOT HIRE THEM, IT IS NOT $99/HR
